I picked up a pair of these because I wanted variety to my 21oz and 25oz 888s. I am very happy. I also went down a size to 38 from 40 which is another reminder for everyone to always refer to the size chart and not the tag size alone. I wear my 888s a bit relaxed and I like that with the heavier denim. These in 38 worked super well for me while before I tried 21oz 634s and they did not.
Coming down to 18oz already feels significantly lighter to me and I don't mind that the top block is a tad bit more snug when the fabric is a bit lighter compared to my 888s. The main thing for me was that the rise was not too different from my 888s ( something that put me off with 634s I tried before ) Just gotta get used to the slightly bigger hem, but the jeans drape so nicely already. I dunno if my ultimate would have been to wait for the 18oz 1955s but I am certainly happy I got these because they feel like a year round pair and I now own a pair of the OG cut.

New to IH. Have a pair of 21 oz 634 overdyed indigo.
Is 18 oz enough of a difference in weight from 21 oz to really notice?

Was leaning towards 14 oz. as a switch up weight.

I wasn't sure if the following question warranted its own thread or if asking here would suffice; the IH 634 seems like a good option for wearing with cowboy boots, yes?

I tend to look at both rise and hem/leg opening as to what might work with cowboy boots - usually settling on something between 8 and 9 inches, with the sweet spot right in the middle. The 634 seem like they fit that bill. My template is the Wrangler 13MWZ, which, despite its high rise, I like quite a bit everywhere else, so it's my reference. I found some Mister Freedoms in two different fabrics that are similar, but I always return to Iron Heart.

The 18-oz seems to strike a good balance between the 14 and 21 adn 25 heavyweights. Am I on the right track here?

I wear mine with ropers and slim shaft engineer boots, I feel like it’s a great fit with that type of boot

It should be all good. I have a pair of 633s SBG that fit well, if a bit tight in the waist, so a 634 with a comfortable waist should be nice.

Truthfully, I tend to wear the 13MWZ and IH 888 more at where I typically wear my pants, which is lower than what Iron Heart would say for the high-waist cuts.

I can dig it. While I don't have anything like a Mr Lou - my foot sports too high an arch to make those work - I gotta believe that my cowboy boots have similar shaft circumference to that of engineer boots.

Really what I want, and this might be sacrilege, is an Iron Heart version of the 13MWZ. The 634 seems close.

@Bobcat-Sig they did do a 14oz broken twill at one point which is closer to wrangler. Not sure which cut would be the closest.

@wjw Nice! That's intriguing, but not a requirement. Good to know. Thanks!
