Maybe if she was more invested in your life, you wouldn't have had to time to make the purchase. Turn this on her. Tell her that it's her fault you bought it and you were just lashing out and this is the only way you can get the soft, warm embrace that she isn't giving you. Your needs are important too. Yeah, balls of steel and an easy mark of a wife to try that one. I know there's a thread for this, but to avoid any further discussions my wife and I have agreed on a clothing budget for me. What she thinks the budget is, and what it actually is aren't the same thing. But it's working so far, no arguments at all so far… ahem ....this year.
