Random Rants

@EJS:
Why do people have fighting breed dogs? My 10 year old spaniel cross was nearly killed this morning by a fair ground pitbull in the local park. It was chained up guarding caravans as they set up the the rides, apparently my dog (being walked by my mate's wife) slipped her lead and ran over to play.. big mistake. Currently running at £900 vets bills and the poor mutt is sedated for shock so they can have a proper look at her injuries. The only saving grace is that I do have insurance for her but the worry is extraordinary..
I’m not a fan of pit bulls but behavior of this type can be attributed to the owners. I’ve met some nice pits before and non-pit breeds that were vicious. Either way, sucks you had to experience that.
Back when I had a dog I used to take him to the dog park for exercise. One day some woman comes along with her Weimaraner and her dog proceeded to attack my Lab mix. My Lab was about 75 lbs and very quiet. Never barked at anyone or anything. He wasn’t having any of the Weimaraner’s shenanigans and fought back. The Weimaraner came out of it with a bloodied nose and ran away. Made me smile.

True story
Last night, at around 1am while the Love family is in bed, I get woken up out of my sleep by the dreadful "Baby… Baby... Wake up, I need to ask you about something....."…
Many moons (and relationships) ago, I would have known exactly what this was about, because, well… nvm... But it's 2018! I'm not that person anymore! But, back to the story...
Uneasily, I say to Maddy "Baaaby, I'm SLEEPING… Why did you wake me up?", and my mind is racing like What could this possibly be about?!
No shit, she looks me in my face and says:
"So, who models the clothes on the Iron Heart website?"
Hilarious! But, I'm still miffed that she woke me up, lol

"So, who models the clothes on the Iron Heart website?"
Why, does she want to
Maybe IH needs to push chicken legged 777’s with a 0.5” inseam and also show how two bandannas tied together works as a bikini top. There’s a market for it, I’m sure.
(@Untucked sorry buddy [emoji16])
Honestly, that's LIKELY the only way she'd agree, lmao!

Waking me up for a non-emergent reason (well, with one exception) would NOT play well for Brandi [emoji16]

How would she feel about one bandanna? [emoji23]

This whole discussed is a bit warped.

As a pretty protective husband, this morning was a complete kick to the gut for me.
…
Back in January, my wife was pulled from her three management sites to step in and try to reverse some bad situations other managers had created with clients. Profits were down for sites and the employees were not doing their jobs well.
In less than 6 weeks, she turned two of the three sites, who were on edge of breaking contract and moving to new providers, around and actually got a huge referral from one. Needless to say, her supervisors were ecstatic, and we were pretty happy to see how her review would go in March.
March rolls around, no word from her manager. Mid April my wife reaches out and asks if they are going to do her review anytime soon. Her boss said they are working hard to get her a sizable raise in thanks for her hard work.
In May they sit down with her and present their offer. A commission/bonus structure that would provide around 50% of additional salary paid out each month. They said they based it on her March and April numbers, so we were thrilled. June 1 rolls around, no additional check. When asked her boss says it would have to be based on contracts date and would begin to pay last week of June. July 1st rolls around, and her boss says accounting did not have enough time to insert the payment into que, and it would happen end of July.
So today was the day. My wife has worked super hard the last three years to become known as the top manager (and youngest) within her company, and since we are moving into a new house in 2 weeks, she picked out some items she REALLY wanted. Since her bosses gave her the amount she would receive during their contract offer, we agreed to invest in the items she wanted for the house (she never asks for anything BTW) and was super excited.
She went to bed nervous last night, hoping to see a number larger than her standard paychecks, and woke up with excitement this morning. When she looked at the bank this AM, all I saw were tears rolling down her face.
One days wage.
One f**king days wage was the bonus they gave her.
One extra f**king days wage per month.
I told her I would write a check for the balance and hand deliver it to her boss and say “obviously you need this more than us,” but she is too prideful to degrade anyone that way.
So now I’m just sitting here pissed off thinking that if this was a male employee they wouldn’t have had the balls to do this.
So, if anyone works in medical billing and needs a supervisor, hit me up.
