Sold my old iPhone 4 weeks ago, the buyer wants to return it claiming it doesn’t charge. I used it daily up until 3 days before I sold it without an issue ever, but eBay have frozen my paypal account until the “dispute” is settled.

      Exactly what I didn’t need 🤬

That's bullshit.  I would get someone from eBay on the phone. If the iPhone is a 6, or newer, that you sold four weeks ago, then you should direct eBay / the buyer to Apple's $29 battery replacement program that runs through 2018.  If it's an iPhone 4 that you sold weeks ago, then you should direct eBay / the buyer to this page:

          https://www.apple.com/iphone-battery-and-performance/

In short, batteries are not made to last 7+ years.  Everyone who has ever used a phone knows that, and you cannot be liable for the buyer's ignorance, or the limitations of batteries.

Thanks man, it’s a 6S Plus so I will definitely direct them to the battery replacement programme. Even though it definitely did not need it when it was sold.

Hit something similar last month. Was disputed directly in paypal around 2 months after purchase. Had offered for it to be returned @ my cost prior, buyer was not willing to send back and still disputed condition (it had cat hair - I live with cats, never said it was free of hair, it was washed/clean over all). Took 21 days for the dispute to end. Turned me off selling in eBay. Had a 'lost' package a few weeks prior that I had to fork the cash out for as I didn't send it tracked…joys..

Yeh, I think this is the nail in the coffin for me on eBay too. Although after advising her to ensure the charging port was free from pocket lint she now say its is charging, but slowly. I’m pretty sure that sue’s damaged it in some way, she told me she had used “multiple chargers” and had “multiple phones of the exact same model” (who has several iPhone 6S Plus for their kids???).

As I think i’m screwed by ebays buyer protection policy i’ll be forced to accept the return.

My brother in law used to buy and sell a few phones on eBay but the hassle he had, pretty much the same as @Megatron1505 troubles, he gave up with it. Ebay/payapl were issuing refunds for buyers without even listening to his side of the argument.

Amazon and ebay charge a huge amount of fees/commission and make a lot of money of sellers they are not protecting at all. So in the end they're the ones who lose the most as it really turns everyone off to sell there ever again. And of course my experience is the same: if you ask ebay to help you as a seller you're lost.

I dunno. The similar pattern doesn't bother me as much as the fact that FN can't sew a shirt to save their lives. Quite possibly the weirdest fits i've seen (and tried) from any company. Their size small for this particular shirt is the equivalent of a size large.

I do like the idea of proprietary/exclusive patterns and that the 'inventor' of a pattern would be rewarded with a copyright (and in an ideal world, enforced justly).

If nothing else, we'd end up with more innovation and kick ass shirts!

no disagreement there. I've just come to the conclusion that fabrics/patterns aren't always exclusive and that companies will borrow from time to time. the upcoming SS18 IHSH-201, for example, is a carbon copy of a pattern that was released by both 3sixteen and Studio D'artisan. Not a knock against IH as I happen to like the pattern, but it's not exclusive. I'm guessing in order for a company to acquire exclusive fabrics they have to meet a certain amount of yardage requirements which would be costly.

If you buy an IHSH-201 and then actually compare it side by side with another similar looking shirt and it indeed a carbon copy, I'll eat one.
