Rant:
I was supposed to get a cleaning at my dentist tomorrow but as luck would have it was able to do it 2 weeks ago because they had a last minute cancellation. I spoke with them on the phone and told them my previous appt for the 29th should've been taken out of their system because I got my cleaning on the 15th. They assured me last week I wasn't in the system. Got a call/appt reminder yesterday…again. Fuuuuuugggg.

Fun things I've experienced in the last two weeks: Sinus infection, vasectomy, two small kids with sinus infections, and now a tear in my medial ligament thanks to taking a flyer on the icy ground while holding an 8 month old child. The 8 month year old was fine, my knee is not.
(I do realise this is more of a whine than a rant but frankly, fuckit).
Damn man. I think this falls under the rant umbrella. It’s quite encompassing.

That’s a satisfying line. I have a vacation rental property and people often make lowball offers while stating that another property they are looking at has a better price and they want to “give us a chance” to match it. . My wife always says “oh wow that’s a great price! you better reserve that now before it’s gone.” Fkn people man…
I would respond with, "Based on your message it sounds like you would rather stay at my rental. I'd like to "give you a chance" to reserve it before I rent it to someone else."
And @neph93 icy road/sidewalk season is coming up fast where I live. I'm already dreading carrying my 6 month old outside for this very reason. Trying to protect a tiny human means falling harder and more awkwardly.

that's probably just as satisfying. another fun one that happens is while someone is trying (unsuccessfully) to haggle with us, another person makes a reservation under their nose. " sorry sir/maam, someone else has made a reservation for the dates you wanted. you should probably grab that other rental asap! Mahalo and Aloha!"

I honestly didn't even know haggling the price of vacation rentals was a thing. Gotta be satisfying when you let someone trying to nickel and dime you the dates are booked already.
Speaking of… One of the things multiple people have tried to haggle me over just sold to a different buyer for full price, no questions asked. I'm sure I'll enjoy letting them know the item is no longer available when they ask.

Left early for work because of an important meeting and now the bloody garage doesnt open. Nobody picks up the phone to fix it. Wonderful start of the day!

^^ Ha! Sounds about right. Lately I've had a few messages from people saying they can get the same item, new, from a store in a different country for only $XX more. My response continues to be, "Then I recommend you place an order with them before they run out of your size."
That's much more civil than anything I'd come out with.

I'm expecting a spiffy new pair of jeans from Self Edge, which were scheduled to arrive here in San Antonio on Friday. So I checked the tracking info on the USPS website, and sure enough, the package arrived at the San Antonio Distribution Center at 3:41am on Friday. It left the distribution center, and at 7:11am, it arrived…
...in Victoria, 100 miles away. C'mon, dudes, it was right here.
