What a bell end

Today, I get this "Giles, Sorry but I would like to cancel my jacket order due to personal reasons. Please promptly refund/ credit back my card with my IHSB C3 vest payment."
At least I got a sorry…..mate @Giles , there is ONLY one answer to this clown a rock solid NO a custom order with custom meas. was made by him. NO cancellation, no returns, no refunds, no nothing (as long as the ordered item matches the original order). Point.

and since this fit…
3 weeks ago, a guy who ordered from me several times before, send me question like: "I would like to have this item (what was on a 25% off sale), but could only pay amount x for it, would that be OK?")
Had a look on the item, overall a pretty big mark down he was asking for, but what's gone is gone.
So gave him a personal discount for the item, what made him coming back with, "thank you, will buy it in 4 weeks"
I said no, you can get the deal now or never, what made him repeating his "I will pay you in 4 weeks"... so went and cancelt the offer, blocked him as a customer and said I'm sorry that's not my way of doing stuff.2 weeks of silence. On Sunday, I get a mail with, "Why did you block me?" Did respond to the question with "I don't know, let me look into it. Maybe try and refresh the page?...."
For the fun of it I un-banned him, just to see what's going to happen...A day later he ordered the original wanted item for the full, no sale, no nothing price + some more...
so someone might got the point in the end.... I hope
at least he got back to me with how happy he is with his order after receiving it...

What a piece of shit. It's a custom order to his spec, IMO screw his refund.

Not a chance I would refund his money. In my mind here are his options…. He can cancel his order and forfeit his deposit or he can pay in full for his order and receive the jacket he requested.
A pet peeve of mine is the attitude of, "it never hurts to ask." No actually sometimes it does because it makes one look like an ass.
I know it's not the best for business but I hope this guy tries to place an order in the future just so you can contact him to let him know, "for personal reasons I've decided to cancel your order."

speechless.
coming from the fact that i work retail and have to deal with this kind of customers on a daily basis. (returning undergarments) or asking stupidly stupid questions like when i say "we can't return or exchange underwear" and the immediate reply i get is "WHY". god i looked at him with absolute amazement.
that said, custom orders are like a seller's way of going out of they way to get something done, specially and specifically for a buyer. why still be a cunt then.. be thankful of the work that's put in instead..

This is the problem. The guy is clearly a tit and I should have realised that sooner and backed off. So almost whatever I do, he will do a chargeback on the credit card. The way chargebacks happen is that the money is taken from our account and it becomes our responsibility to prove that the "contract" was in place, he broke it and we should be paid. Quite frankly, I do not have the time to prat around doing that. So I will bar him from the shop (that's easy), if he joined the forum, ban him. Get pockets and a throat latch put on the jacket and offer it up for sale here. It's an absolute beaut, so someone's going to be in luck….

Was about to add that to my post….. Someone is going to get an awesome jacket..... Good thing it's not that douche bag.
-
That is absolutely ludicrous behaviour, but as you said the credit card policy is against you unfortunately. It just baffles me how someone who can obviously afford such an item would be such a twat about cancelling what he has asked for.

Personally, if I was the dude and genuinely had decided that I didn't want the jacket, I would have paid for it and sold it on at a loss considering it a lesson in being more certain before buying. What a nob head.

Also agree. Especially considering the item in question. Anyone buying a custom leather jacket can't really use the excuse of "I can't afford to do that".
