Too, too many boozers are being closed down or turned into gastro pubs - souless veneers, faux tiling and fake exposed brick are replacing solid, old hard wood and character.

Friends of me are 'vegans'.. They don't wear any leather clothes, shoes etc..

Many vegans like to recycle; thus using leather (excluding some exotics) could be viewed as merely recycling the leftovers of animal production for foodstuffs. Plus, if the hides are valuable then less harm will occur to those hides in life. This is something people who work in the industry will tell you. Though there are still ways to beat and bruise animals into submission without damaging the hides; it is somewhat of an art form actually. Also, not all vegans care about animals. Some are merely interested in optimal health; athletes, sports heroes, former presidents, academics, nutritionists, the list goes on… Veganism is essentially an umbrella which takes in a wide spectrum of priorities.

Just like pigs, humans will basically survive on anything. Unlike pigs though, humans are mostly vile, dumb, stinking animals.
