Yup.
Been down to the post office this morning. Because it's a big parcel it's being held at the distribution centre down the road, and I was helpfully told "you might need a car to collect it."
Yes, that's why I took advantage of the free delivery service because I don't have a car, and carrying a big box across Melbourne didn't seem like a clever idea.
Oh, and the distribution centre is now closed until Monday morning.
thankfully, i've yet to come across such service..

Just had a fantastic brunch with my lady, and I got to thinking about how we never do brunch. Its very much something that I overlook, as food is a necessity, but I don't pour too much time or energy or effort into nicer food places. lol.
Additionally, I've been thinking about past iron heart pieces that I've missed and wish I had purchased way back when, and I think the top 3 are the Grey Wool Shirt from like 3 years ago and two Self Edge collaborations: the dark rider and the cotton cpo. I had the opportunity to get them both a few times, I just really regret not pulling the trigger.
Live and learn i suppose.

Parcel recovered.
I only found out where it was on Friday after asking at the local post office. Turns out it was half a kilometre away, or quarter of a mile. Unfortunately carrying an awkward, relatively heavy box that distance is not fun, which is why I'd asked for delivery in the first place.
Also, it's faster for DHL to get a parcel here from LA, and UPS from Gosport, than it is for Auspost to get a package across town!

agreed, though i remember that some people on this forum have had bad experiences with DHL and such with parcels in other countries. australia's pretty okay with DHL..

Why is it that every single engineer I work with have severe aspergers??? How some of these people arent on their third or fourth set of teeth amazes me.

As someone who is possibly on the autistic spectrum, perhaps I should point out that the problem is often with the more neurotypical people.
In general, someone with Asperger's Syndrome will struggle with social cues and sometimes things that aren't clearly laid out. Then again, complete specifications should be mandatory in an engineering environment.
Try to avoid offering a huge amount of options. Arbitrary choices can be hugely difficult, because there can be limits to imagination (in more of a visualising a result, rather than a creative sense) and a tendency to try to over-optimise a solution.
Also be aware that certain stimuli can be uncomfortable for people with autism. For example, I find loud noises, glare, and high contrast patterns (e.g. light reflecting off the treads on an escalator) to be painful. Touching someone on the spectrum probably won't be a pleasant experience for them.

So no crazy plaids for you then…
Genuinely very interesting @Graeme - I read it out to @Madame Buttonfly

Very interesting Graeme, thankyou. Not a subject that I am knowledgeable on and its always interesting to learn something new!

Plaids aren't too bad.
I've come off an antidepressant recently, and the sensitivity to stripes has increased. No, I don't get it either. But something like a pair of hickory trousers is getting there.
Good thing I became a fatty last year, and can't fit into them now.
Sure it's not the same thing but the 07 gets me if I catch it out the corner of my eye. Interesting to read this.

Visual and/or auditory hallucinations are a known effect of anti depressant discontinuation. SSRI's are especially bad for it. I can easily see how hickory or other dense, repetitive patterns may provoke that. I'm sure it'll pass.

I've got a hangover, the crotch has blown out on my DWC jeans, I'm resisting the urge to punch another parent from Tommy's football team and I'm still getting over man flu. Apart from that, can't complain.
