The middle back loop was angled on the DC4001 (and maybe of DC's). This was a historical nod back to when it was really difficult to bartack the belt loop on through the centre back seam because there were so many layers of cloth.

I do apologize for airing personal opinions on my influences if it bothered anyone. My thing was just more to do with media consumption and what I direct my attention bandwidth toward. Similar to musical selection or film tastes. We all like what we like.
I can take a jab. I do like that we can all talk about our interests here without judgement. I don't really participate in any other social media besides this, and I wouldn't want to treat anyone here any different than I would in person.

And my opinion on crooked belt loops is that they look bad, but make sense if you want to reduce thick overlaps of fabric that can be a hot spot on the back of a motorcycle if your seat has contact there.

I have tons of opinions too. I’m just trying to bite my tongue and save my long-form journalism for the really important stuff, like the IH handoff thread. thankfully some of you had some longer ones too, so I don’t seem like a complete psycho. 🤣

But all in all, I understand where everybody’s coming from. I just think these conversations almost never end up in a good place. For what it’s worth, I’ve yet to see a forum that opens the door to politics, ideology, or people just going hog wild with their opinions where it doesn’t eventually become a problem or even if people are all on the same side, it just kind of dies out because who wants to talk about that crap all day?

Oh shit I did it again. I’m going try to keep everything I respond to two sentences or less from here on out. But I’m not promising. 🤞

@Cymro @NickD never really thought about it but now you mention it... I'm not having that! I wonder! if it makes it easier for your belt?CleanShot 2026-08-26 at 14.22.58@2x.png

I can confirm that after extensive testing this evening, angled belt loops were no different than standard for the ease of belt fitting.

I am pretty sure my Stevensons have angled loops at the back and it can be a pain to get my belt through them. The look doesnt bother me as much as the extra trouble.

I’d have to go back and look, but I’m pretty sure that my first pair of IronHeart’s the DC 4001 had an offset loop for comfort.

Interesting. I didn’t remember it ever featuring on IH.

On the upside, the angled loops have saved me buying a few pairs of jeans over the years; things that I otherwise would have picked up. I guess that’s a sign of how spoilt for choice we are these days - it really is a golden era.

I might have an unhealthy obsession with belt loop aesthetics….. I really love the heavily ridged ones that sone brands do. I’ve been loving wearing a pair of Strike Gold lately, featuring the most beautifully defined belt loop ridges.

I found a pic of the DC4001, and the centre back belt loop is offset not angled, clearly H could not bring himself to angle it......

Hi there, my friend! Here’s a bit of history about Smirnoff vodka. The original version existed before 1917; what’s available now isn't quite the same thing. There are so many different vodkas in Russia these days—some bad, some good. Personally, if I had to choose between whiskey and vodka, I’d pick vodka. For me, the perfect flavor combination is black rye bread and salted salmon or trout—all enjoyed with vodka out in the cold. As for my surname, it’s one of the most common in Russia, and its origins are linked to the Orthodox faith.
