Smoking some pork shoulder on this rainy PNW evening and look at my phone to see a UPS notification that my recent Friday morning order shipped. I thought the IHUK elves were making merry in Gosport. Apparently they care more about their patrons than taking a well deserved break. Not expected, but thank you guys!!! And Merry Christmas to you all.

@dwaynelum I can’t tell if you’re ranting about the IHUK elves working tirelessly without break or the annoying fact that UPS tracking came through flawlessly and now can’t curse their ineptitude!! Haha

Kids have an area in the unfinished basement for crafts, arts, etc. that was a complete and utter write off.
Just went full asshole dad mode and told them I want it spotless….nobody’s happy right now

I'l continue with the rants:
Working my ass off in Texel. We had left instructions for the old hedge surrounding the property to be removed, and a new fence to be set up. Except that they left out one of the rear corners, for no real reason. Except for being lazy maybe, because it is difficult to get to. It's astonishing to see the language barrier between Dutch and German returning when you start to complain.
I have now all of the old hedge removed, but now I have to buy the missing pieces for the fence. Proves to be difficult on an island, with shipping rates from the mainland being astronomically high.
Currently looking into renting a small truck on tuesday, and pick it up myself. -

Is it one of those convenient language barriers that works out in their favour? Always could put it to the test and say that you're not paying unless it's done. Sometimes it works wonders on translational issues

@goosehd Of course that's the case here.
But the problem is two fold. I paid the company for the new fence after I received notice from the recreational park management that they finished their work.
It was the park management's task to remove the old hedge beforehand, and in the pictures they sent they conveniently left out that corner. And they will deduct their pay from the rent for the house, as we rent it out through them while we're not using it ourselves.
