I remember Chris saying he likes Hoegaarden… It's been ages since I had one, but reading Mikke's book on beers, he actually recommends Hoegaarden in the witbier section... Figured I'd give it another try...

Screw you both - poured it away... Replaced it with a Wehenstephaner Hefe Weisse...

The other bald bastard, this one from Mansfield, said he had a present for me that was "neither beer or pig related"… What the fuck is your tap water laced with?..

I love it, though… Good shape for a wide variety of beers... THANKS Gav!..

Yesterday… I fell in love with this beer...

Today… The Love & regret was repulsive... The Dottignies is a gorgeous saison... Bit light, but delicious.

And you fucking know it… No idea what it costs over there, but at 11.45 € a bottle here, I'm buying as many as possible next time I'm visiting Deconinck...

I really wish we got more stuff from The Bruery in Texas, I've had a few of their beers in the past and they were great.
When I was in DC I had a few pretty good beers.

Lunch, I had the Dogfish Palo Santo Marron, the girlfriend had a Founders Rübæus (in the background).
Later we went to Churchkey where I went a little over the top, it's really nice to have public transit access! Doesn't really exist here in Texas.

Peeper Ale from Maine Beer Company, very nice spicy and refreshing. Good starter beer.

Up next was the Two Hearted Ale from Bell's, wanted to try them out since people seem to like the brewery and it's not available down south. (That's the trend with most of these, I wanted to try everything I couldn't get back home)

Even More Jesus VIII from Siren and Evil Twin. This was the standout. When I saw it on the tap list I started talking to the bartender and we geeked out a bit and then he gave us this one for free. Absolutely delicious.

Edmund Fitzgerald from Great Lakes Brewing Co. Another fantastic beer, nice dry porter. Would love to have access to this.

Lastly I told the bartender I wanted something under the radar and local, so he got me a pint of Bitter Valentine from AleWerks in Williamsburg, Virginia. This was surprisingly great, he told us that the brewery went though some rebranding as most of their beers in the past weren't the greatest. This imperial IPA really reminded me of a more bitter grapefruit Sculpin. Great way to finish the night.

The next day we went to a Nationals game and I had a few pints of The Public Ale from DC Brau. Not a bad ballpark beer. Sadly the Braves lost but we had a good time!
The next day we went to Pizza Paradiso in Alexandria where I had Oude Tart from The Bruery on tap, Scurry from Off Color Brewing and Zoe from Maine Beer Company. Sadly I didn't take any pictures of these, but they were delicious.
All in all I was impressed with the beer scene up there, very different from Texas!

Lucky fecker!.. I'm absolutely stoked to finally have some Even More Jesus incoming through a trade… Hopes are ridiculously high...

You won't be disappointed I'm sure! I was very surprised they had it on tap to be honest.
The girlfriend didn't like it one bit, but she's not a fan of stouts.
She did find some beers she liked at Churchkey. Mainly Ayinger Bräu Weisse and Rosée D'hibiscus from Brasserie Dieu Du Ciel. I suggested she try Allagash White (which I love) but she wasn't much into it herself.

Speaking of Allagash, anyone tried their sour red/brown Broken Elevator? Pretty good on draft for damn sure, after it warmed a bit in particular it was among the finest at a sour festival with some big time beers. I think it was a collab from a few taphouses including Colorado's excellent Falling Rock.

Oh hell, I would nuke my kidneys on that.  Oude Tart is fantastic, and I grab multiple bottles whenever I get the chance.
I'd really love for The Bruery to distribute to Texas. They're by far one of my favorite brewers.

Impeccable timing, but Zoe stole the show that evening for me!
