All the shots in my first post were taken on my phone, the next one was on my D5500 with 40mm Nikon micro lens.  I've been needing a macro lens for work but didn't know which one to get, so thanks to those who posted shots using that lens as I went and bought one today after reading same great reviews about its versatility.
