@Hematoma I went TTS on these (33W) and they fit great.  They have plenty of room without being baggy, perfect work cut IMO.  As far as indigo bleed goes, mine calmed down after a few months.  Just keep in mind they are rope dyed yarns, basically designed to bleed/fade and that makes these pants so cool and unique.  If you're on the fence with these, just get them, they're awesome.

@Hematoma - I went TTS as well and find the thighs and rear area especially fitted. But then again, I have a rather "thick" athletic build haha.

However, I would not have sized up due to the hem, and they do stretch a bit, but I won't be doing any squats in mine. I am a 36-37 true waist and went with the sz 36 FYI and wear a 36 in pretty much all IH jeans, maybe even a 34 in some roomier cuts with more give to the fabric.

        Hey guys,

I'm looking at these as my first IH raws and after measuring my best fitting pants, am not sure whether to go with the 816DD in tag size 30 or 31, due to the waist.

Here are my measurements for my current pants in inches, using Iron Heart's method:

        Waist: 30.5
        Front Rise: 10
        Back Rise: 14
        Thigh: 11.5
        Knee: 8

And the measurements of the 816DDs:

        Tag size :  30 31
        Waist 30.0 31.0
        Front 10.1 10.4
        Rear 14.2 14.5
        Thigh 11.3 11.6
        Knee 8.8 8.9
        Hem 8.3 8.5
        Inseam 36.0 36.0

What do you guys think would be the ideal fit?

Do you have room in the thigh and waist with your current fit? Unless the pants you have now are baggy, you will need the 31. Duck doesn't stretch like denim, so especially the thigh measurement won't get any comfier if you go for the 30.

@sabergirl Gotcha, thanks! I'd hate to wash these to find out I wouldn't fit. That happened to me on a previous pair I'd sized down too much in.

I'd also suggest 31, as the Duck doesn't stretch that much but I find that it doesn't shrink much neither. In doubt, I personally always size up instead of down.

Definitely 31.. Double Ducks are very unforgiven

My girlfriend washed my pair while I was at work, I now have a big white streak down one leg…. brushed it out a bit and hoping it'll work out as they fade more...  anyone have any other solutions? may well get a new pair while they are still around.

Get a new pair, chop the existing pair to shorts.

Innuendo heavy for sure… getting some new ones, love the shorts idea.

I have my own IH laundry basket. Mrs Neph isn't allowed to wash anything in it, so stuff I need to be particular about is safe from her meddling/ignorance.

Only just saw the 'ex' bit, having a slow day today.. it was very nearly a deal breaker too.

That's a great solution, though after the ensuing row yesterday I think I'm likely to be doing all my own washing from now on anyway… in 10yrs we have never rowed about clothes, but only been buying IH for a year..

Trust me, women have their own set of rules for washing clothes that they learnt from their mothers. They are non-negotiable and carved in stone. If I let my otherwise considerably better half wash my gear it'd be shrunken, marked, crocked and fekked backwards from here to Tuesday. Anyway, washing heavy duty denim is manly AF [emoji1434][emoji38]
