I snagged one of my flannel shirts the other day and pulled some of the threading out and I'm wondering if I can I possibly tease it back into the shirt or if I should just send it in for repair.

        Thoughts?

@bizbuzz you should be able to pull the snagged thread to the reverse side of the shirt yourself using a snag repair tool if you have one (essentially a miniature latch hook) or failing that a needle. Don’t cut the loose thread!

I was brought up in a multi-cat household so plenty of experience in fixing snags!

These “IH-633S - Self Edge x Iron Heart 21oz Selvedge Jean Straight Tapered” are my favorite IH pair. The cut and fit are ideal for me. So they ended up being my most worn pair since mid 2017. I’ve always had jeans developing their first holes on the thighs…mystery to me why that happens. Also happened with the IHs. Har these repaired locally about six months ago, so roughly at their 6 year mark.

Have a trip to the US in April and I’ll be restocking my IH pickings. Have quite a stack at HQ bulit up over 12 months now, but the 633s will have to come from Self Edge.

                        The journey is the objective.

to avoid cluttering the other thread, does anyone know how a regular hickory fabric, e.g. IHSH-07, would take up dye? Would it be like this?

I have a 5oz dobby cloth work shirt (358) that I’d like to try and get to a light blue. Think I could bleach it to get the desired result without too much damage to the material? I have never attempted something like this so all advice appreciated

@SKT why not just throw it in the wash whenever you put a dark load on? I'd imagine you'd have the desired lightening after 5/6 washes, without causing any damage to the shirt.

@T4920 based on my 357, I’m not sure I could get it there with just washes. Here’s a pic of both. The western had been washed about 10 times in this pic. I’d like for the work version to be almost as light as a blue chambray. Still debating what to do. IMG_4888.jpeg

@SKT I've bleached a lot of IH stuff (Prof. Filthy award). You can do that, just start with a little bit of bleach added to the washing program, like 3 teaspoons of bleach. If you're not happy with the result (not bleached enough), repeat the procedure with the same amount. I wouldn't be concerned about the material, more that it gets too light. I used this.

@endo thanks. When adding the bleach do you add it to the water first and let it mix a bit before adding the clothing? I’m nervous 😬
