Thrift Store Scores

@GraemeE haha!! From one thrift hound to another, your comment means the world to me! I often joke with my buddies that at my funeral mourners will be given a leaflet at the door. It will be a catalog of all of my thrifts, a table summarizing what I paid versus MSRP. The total at the end will be the summation of my life.

No images, But Mark my antique dealer mate (Mad Mark is what me and P call him), went into a thrift store just north of here a couple of weeks ago. Came out with a small Chippendale era cupboard which he gave £108 for.
Sold it over the phone before he got home for £2,500.....

Time to change his name to Shrewd Mark

@Inorganic We were at this mine back in 1990.

@twin The one from the lunch box story?! That's rad - is there a sign giving any info about it?
-
@Inorganic Look up big nickel. There were lots of mines here.
-
Thrifted this wool western shirt. It's super fitted and a bit long, fits like an Ship John in my opinion. But the best part (other than the price) is the tag. Thank you bad ass grannie, wherever you are out there. I appreciate it very much!

He's actually a wonderful person, extremely knowledgeable about antiques. Also very entertaining.
-
@Giles I sort of remember his story about a Mrs. Shufflebottom who lived on the Isle of Wight. I was more intrigued by her name than the story, which was good.
-
@freepickin that is a keeper
-
@steelworker Always known as Big Nickel.
-
@steelworker Also look up (Sudbury Igneous Complex). That will explain why the nickel is there.
