Yeah, stick with them Gav. My short shifts are the most comfortable boots I own. I had heel slip for a while also. It went away after they molded to my foot/ankle.
-
Thanks guys, I'm going to follow the stick with them advice and wear double socks in the mean time to reduce chafing.
-
Me too, right heel only.
-
Me too with right heel, you just gotta walk it off [emoji6]

Heel slip is an inevitable breaking-in deal on engineers and similar boots. Hopefully it will go away soon.

never had heel slip problems on my engineers.
hope yours will be fine soon, gav. -

+1 This
Give em time as soon as they break in, they will mold nicely to your feet. Comfy Insoles helped me personally in my VMC annis in the beginning to get used to a "new" walking style, now dont need em insoles any longer -
I have had this with every boot I have ever had to break in. Always put it down to my feet being pussies from being in sneakers for long periods of time.

The Vibergs are causing me some severe heel rub pain, I've been reading about wearing 2 pairs of socks, wearing them for just a little each day etc… Anyone have any tips for this, it's caused by the slightest of heel slip, but enough to cause a skin to be worn off.
I use Glide. It is for running/hiking or whatever. It goes on like deodorant, but protects the skin against blisters. Not sure about the UK, but running & fitness stores here have it. Also Amazon carries it.

Thanks Mike, that sounds perfect.

Hehe I have those socks.
Is that the CXL service boot? I much prefer the capless models like that. Is the last tight on the tops of your feet? It's pretty shallow so I was concerned about that.
-
Jeff, those are stellar boots. Black service boots are next on my wish list.
-
I am in love with Viberg's service boot have black, brown and color 8 all CXL.
My feet are weird long and narrow the 2030 last fits me like a glove.
