The Vibergs are causing me some severe heel rub pain, I've been reading about wearing 2 pairs of socks, wearing them for just a little each day etc… Anyone have any tips for this, it's caused by the slightest of heel slip, but enough to cause a skin to be worn off.

I use Glide.  It is for running/hiking or whatever.  It goes on like deodorant, but protects the skin against blisters.  Not sure about the UK, but running & fitness stores here have it.  Also Amazon carries it.

                  Hehe I have those socks.

Is that the CXL service boot? I much prefer the capless models like that. Is the last tight on the tops of your feet? It's pretty shallow so I was concerned about that.

                  Think it, be it.

i'm actually gonna sell all my boots except for my Brian make-up.  Then I'm getting a pair of black plain boots (maker doesn't matter) i can wear when i dress up once a year. i've noticed the more space i get the more things i buy to fill it up  😞

it's a sickness i tell u & they make it so easy with all these nice make-ups.

I know - imo the nicest, dressy boots out there.  These would be great to wear with anything, including "dressing up". imo.  As MM said, your Viberg game is (indeed) very strong!

great score D666.  thanks for the image bluegrass, my only problem(s) are the danty sole and i have grown out of love with that last.

                                    i am more into these:

they are just a bit overpriced (even for me) & as such they will have to sit on the shelf.  i like the 2040 last the best for Viberg at the moment . . .

I also really like the look of the 2040 last from Viberg. My Boondockers on the 2045 are super comfortable and have the more rugged boot style that I wanted, but the 2040 is just the right amount sleeker without being too narrow and almond-shaped as the 2030 would be for my feet. I wish they would produce a couple of standard smooth-out leather service boots on the 2040 but hey, it's good for my wallet and my marriage that they don't, I guess!

A lot of it has to do with toe structuring. Either semi or fully structured toes look best IMO on boondockers and service boots.

                                        Think it, be it.

Yes, agreed although the Viberg boondocker has an unstructured toe. I'm not a fan of the unstructured look on the toe profile of the 2030 because it really seems to crumple to a flat, pointy shape. This looks particularly bad when combined with a semi-brogued toecap in my opinion, given the nod towards a dress style boot. However, I'm sure many love that look.

I'm surprised that the 2030 works for so many people too…I couldn't believe how uncomfortable my feet were in it.  Also agree that the toe profile looks way to dainty for a workboot.
