those black boots look too hip. Maybe for some trendy hipster, but definately not my cup of coffee.

                    Rugged…wasn't that the word  😉

Bullhide is pretty damn rugged, actually.

Whether they're "hipster" or not, I don't know, but I'm fairly certain they're going to be tough boots.

I stand corrected…but they still look like something out of catwalk. (to my biker eye)

I just got these and they're perfect sizewise. There's no other size tags other than uk12 (probably Oki-Ni:s own tag) on the box and a 12 stamped inside the boot so I really can't tell what US(?) size they are. They're definitely larger than my UK11/US12 RW 875s so these will fit an insole no problem. I'd say these are pretty much similarly sized as the Timberland 6" premium boot in size US 12.

I'm happy to say I'm extremely (positively) overwhelmed by the quality of craftmanship put into these boots. The leather's  😘 :-*, the finishing is top notch and these look good as FxxK worn. I really hope these will hold up for a long time, I already have a couple of resole plans figured out over time  😃 But first I'm going to start working on this bad ass wedge sole. Oh and did I say that I feel like a badass with these on…  😉

More than happy with this purchase! And shipping took less than 48 hrs as well. Crazy.

Does anyone know any good tips on roughout leather care? I really want these Vibergs to last for as long as possible and I have no problem with denim stains and normal wear marks but I'd like to make sure that I don't screw up anything that could affect the life of these.

I have enough knowledge about smooth leather care and have owned several pair of Timberland boots in nubuck or whatever they are. I usually just treat them with a water-repellent spray and then brush them up once in a while.

However, the roughout on the Vibergs is a lot more coarse than the nubuck on the Timberlands and I've heard that water-repellent sprays affect the breathability of the leather so I'm a bit hesitant to use that on them without checking.

I know that brushing them once in a while will keep the roughout texture nice but how about the moisturising part? Greases are out of the question obviously.
I know that these wont age the same way a smooth leather does but I'd still like to have them age as nicely as possible and appreciate all tips that you guys might have.

I'd say just wear them, and brush once in a while. Good leather, whatever it is doesn't need moisturising in ages.

Just remember to let them dry properly after every use. I never (never say never) wear same boots/shoes 2 days in a row unless I'm on a biketrip. And usually I have flip flops or sneakers with me even then.

Letting footwear to dry out/breathe properly after use is the most important thing, me thinks…

BTW whereabouts in Hellsinki are you? I'm in Espoo.

you can rub in a bit of boot grease too - let it soak in and then brush the nap up again (an old toothbrush works quite well)
