@Sam I was expecting something more on the impractical end of the scale. I thought that you might have gone for a BMW R nineT Scrambler or Urban G/S, or a K1300R.

Glad the engine is living up to its reputation, and may speed cameras look in the other direction to your progress. 😛

The matching style for the Tiger would be an adventure helmet. Arai and Schuberth make a few, but the below are alternatives. However, I'd suggest traipsing around Urban Rider and The Bike Shed in London, and Motolegends in Guildford (who actually supply The Bike Shed) to see what you can find.

From an aesthetic point of view, I really like the Icon Variant Construct, which has a clear coat over a fibreglass shell.

The Schuberth E1 is a flip-fronted adventure style helmet. They're extremely quiet and pricy, but Touratech sell a version which is even more expensive if you feel the need to spend more. 🙂

Lastly, the Shark Explore-R. This comes with a visor and goggles, and the peak can be removed. It's an interesting design.

They've gotten very silly but I still play 1-3 and enjoy the Halo: Reach multiplayer games. And I have lots of game playing boys in my flock so Master Chief is a bit of an icon in our house.

@Sam Congrats on the new bike. Being an old Harley guy,my bones joints could never handle a riding position like that. I'm sure it sails through the corners. Also if your girlfriend tells you that she's comfortable on that seat, she's a keeper. As far as helmets go I'm a big fan of the Nolan modular helmets. Got to see how good one works in an accident 5 years ago. Saved my head and face big time.

Thanks, @Jett129 I think you'd be comfortable on it though! Just got to get on it first. I even struggle to climb aboard sometimes. Haha yes, the girlfriend may be a keeper… although she's just quit smoking so one false move and I'm in the doghouse.  😛
I'll check out that helmet... tried and crash tested and you've lived to tell the tale, can't think of a better advert than that.

Can you add some photos @Nomad I don't hate the screen i just hate what it does to the helmet… but i think a different helmet will fix that issue.

By all means try a new helmet but the OE screen is famous for being shite, have a nosey around the tiger 800 forum. The Madstad made a massive difference, I also tried the triumph touring screen but that didn't work for me.

The local Ferrari and Maserati dealer often has bikes on display from the owner's collection. Here are a couple that were in there yesterday.

Ducati MH900e. This was my favourite of the two.

                                    Ducati Paul Smart.

Sorry to hear about your ankle @summ3rhays but I'm guessing it's a good think in the long run?

@Sam I don't know if he rides them. They look a bit clean to have been out on the road much. @summ3rhays (get well soon) said that his Sport Classic was painful to ride, and the Paul Smart is essentially the full-fat version of that bike.

Actually, there's a rear plastic mudguard on the Paul Smart, which would have been there for the Aussie Design Rules, and probably pulled off by a new owner in the first five minutes. So I'm guessing it's a display piece.
