I went tts with a 30w, after I first tried them on I felt that a 31w would have been a lot easier. But now they are very comfortable. Outside of the 21oz I don't think any IH jean has become so comfortable, so fast. I think they've stretched around 0.2-0.4" already. And although I've done a lot of walking in the past few days, there has also been a lot of sitting down.

I know no one really knows how these will turn out. But what is everyone's thoughts on these compared to the 18oz ? I know absolutely nothing about left hand twill besides it is smoother and lighter in color. But these do not look like either of those. Does left hand twill generally have a lower contrast fade than right hand twill ? I had a pair of 666S for a minute but the thighs were too small and i will have to size up if I decide to go with 18oz again. But the 19L measurements look pretty good for me.

My guess is that twill makes less of a difference than people think. Yarn properties and gauge, weave tension, how many dips and in what… My hunch is that these make a bigger difference than the orientation of the serge.
But you hear LHT is flatter, has blurrier, more vertical fades (so I guess less contrasted). My LHT jeans are going to have serious contrast though.

I appreciate the kind words. My first pair hemmed short enough to stack rather than cuff. It was unnerving asking for a 32" inseam. I tried to capture how hairy they are, but it's tough with phone pics.

Yes they are the 36. Waist is a little large, but a hot soak brought them down a touch.
I'm 6" tall, but have proportionately short legs.

Yep, the lighter pair are my IH666-VMC, over two years old now. You've just bought a pair as the IH666-XHS.
