Do you guys have experience with the JL chelsea boot? Looking at the olive cxl one. Had to let my RDT caspers go because they never got to a comfortable level and the cord soles weren't really for me.. now I need something laceless again bacause I am lazy af

@FlavourFade I have two pairs, but not in olive. Coming from the Red Wing Chelseas, they took a while to get used to, as the last is narrower. But they broke in nicely and have gooten really comfortable.

@FlavourFade hey man I do believe these are built on the same last as their engineers. And thought it was you who had to catch and release the engineers because they fit too tight . Something to keep in mind if it was you -pending how that last (no pun intended) experience treated you, may want to go up .5 size or steer clear of this last all together.

@tody @flannel-slut thanks guys!! It was me indeed who had problems with the engineers... Bummer! I think they will be too tight then and a size up is not available right now. Maybe someone can recommend a chelsea that is a little more foregiving?

Nice thing about those shell combat boots is they seem to rerun them annually. So if you can’t justify it now, the ol “maybe next year” mindset helps with the FOMO
Now those 8” Ezo Donkey Punchers on the other hand…

Does anyone know how the Lofgren Combat Boots might compare to Vibergs 310 last in terms of room / volume in the forefront/toe area?

@Daniel-San I have tried them on and they were not made for my foot. The JLB M-43s on the Munson last work fantastically for me. Snug grip in the forefoot without being too narrow. The Steel Gangs were rather wide in the forefoot and I could not lace them so that they would fit ideally.
HOwever, if you look at Pallet_Shots on Insta and at Patina Project (https://www.patinaproject.com/reviews/john-lofgren-steel-gang-shinki-camel-horsebutt/v3A1MYr), you can see these boots become absolutely fantastic.
