Coming up on about two years with this beast. I think it was my second IH purchase and was a daily wear for pretty much the first year I had it.

Unfortunately it doesn't see as much wear with the IHJ 54 and 35 being very heavy in my rotation this last year, but I still love this jacket.

No soaks or washes and I'm likely to keep it that way…

You won’t be satisfied until you wear Iron Heart.

@twin it seems that everything you wear fits you perfectly, really impressive and very inspirational. 😎 Your fades are absurdly nice as well.

Now the vertical fades have developed and do people approach you asking questions about the jacket?  It looks terrific.

Hi All, I've got a question on living with this 19oz. LHT, I'm sure this is common knowledge to most here, and I actually can't seem to find much that specifically answers this for me (though I'm sure I overlooked it somewhere…):

My large 526L is new and stiff(!), and I'd like to soften it up without any additional shrinkage.  I know you'll all advise just wearing the hell out of it, but I'd like to cheat and make it a little more livable in the short term.  I'm on the fence about it being too small, but the sleeves fit well and I'm afraid going up to an XL will make them too long.  All other dimensions will be fine if no more shrinkage.

Should I be cold soaking it?  If so, how long?  Will this get me there or should I just suck it up and don the armor?

Ok message received- no free lunch… But are you further saying that I should size up now and just live with too-long sleeves?  Will I get any stretch with wear, or just inevitable eventual shrink from here?

You'll get stretch where you put pressure on the material (not the arms).  I can't tell you what fit you will be most comfortable with, but personally, I don't particularly mind a Type III being tight or short…
