Hi All, I've got a question on living with this 19oz. LHT, I'm sure this is common knowledge to most here, and I actually can't seem to find much that specifically answers this for me (though I'm sure I overlooked it somewhere…):

My large 526L is new and stiff(!), and I'd like to soften it up without any additional shrinkage.  I know you'll all advise just wearing the hell out of it, but I'd like to cheat and make it a little more livable in the short term.  I'm on the fence about it being too small, but the sleeves fit well and I'm afraid going up to an XL will make them too long.  All other dimensions will be fine if no more shrinkage.

Should I be cold soaking it?  If so, how long?  Will this get me there or should I just suck it up and don the armor?

Ok message received- no free lunch… But are you further saying that I should size up now and just live with too-long sleeves?  Will I get any stretch with wear, or just inevitable eventual shrink from here?

You'll get stretch where you put pressure on the material (not the arms).  I can't tell you what fit you will be most comfortable with, but personally, I don't particularly mind a Type III being tight or short…

Mine definitely shrunk after a wash. I’d size up and give it a warm wash.

Fantastic evo there, @twin. I'm growing impatient for my go-round with the tour jacket, in May.
