General answer:  Some do, some don't.  Personal preference.  That is what life is all about, if we all conformed to the same rules and values, we'd be a fecking boring bunch…

Edit.  In English we have a saying, "variety is the spice of life".

I sometimes polish them. When I feel they need it. I'm sure if there was something like "Boot Court" I'd be doing time for abuse and neglect though…
