@goosehd @Anesthetist love those watches, guys!

same same. Totally tried to avoid the watch store in Barcelona. But I apparently have zero willpower.

@Heavy_blue thanks, man. It’s sized at 45.5, and it’s very tall on the wrist as well. It’s a brutal watch. I looked at others in the shop, and this one was just calling my name. I actually went in asking for the blue version, which they didn’t have, and I had never seen the all black version, and it was game over instantly.

Mate went to Paris last week and before he went, told me he wanted to try and pick up a Moon Swatch. He asked me if I wanted one too.

Was intrigued to see what they were like as not really paid much attention to them. Since he kindly offered, checked out a few reviews and it did make me chuckle that some people were grumbling that it wasn’t the same quality as an actual fucking Omega! Perhaps I’m missing something, but it’s a bloody plastic watch!

Anyway, he managed to pick me up a Mission to Mercury. To my complete surprise, I actually quite like it. Controversially, have never fancied owning a Speedmaster (except for G’s with the Japanese racing dial). Appreciate that they are a lovely watch, just not one I have lusted after.

Re the Moonswatch. The strap it came with was absolutely bloody hideous. Why they scrawled the word ‘Speedmaster’ in massive letters across the back is beyond me.

Switched out the strap for a Crown & Buckle nato that I previously put on my IWC but which never quite worked. Personally, I think the pop of colour works great with the grey of the Moonswatch.

Anyway, I can certainly see me introducing it into regular wear, particularly in the summer. Dimensions on it are pretty spot on and the fact it’s plastic will mean I can delight in drinking lots of rum, (probably) falling over and not be especially concerned about destroying it.

I ain't got time to bleed.

@Cutlasshound that is such a stylish watch the way you have it set up.
I find these Speedmaster/Swatch collabs to be so damn intriguing (vexing). The price is right for a daily beater, that could easily pass for its much more expensive brother.
Owning a manual-wind moonwatch, I just can’t bring myself to buying one of these. It’d be like cheating. At least that’s what I think it would feel like.
But that said, I think they released a pink version that I thought was outstanding, and just might consider owning for the sheer novelty of a having a pink speedmaster.
Congrats again on the score. Totally awesome.

@Heavy_blue I definitely do. But on the basis that I am taking it for exactly what it is, which is a Swatch watch with very nice dimensions and a face that are based upon a classic. Certainly glad that my mate picked one up for me.

My friend was a bit disappointed that the ‘Bioceramic’ wasn’t a bit more heavy duty. It feels like any other plastic Swatch watch. I went in with massively low expectations so came out happy!

@Autorotate Thanks very much. I don’t think you would be disappointed if you got it in another colour, provided you went in with an open mind (i.e. it is intended to be an homage and not a substitute for the real thing)!

Today is the beginning of Watches and Wonders, which means all the new models are being announced.

First up, Grand Seiko have a mechanical chronograph, the Tentagraph. It uses their 5 Hz movement as its base.

I'm expecting half of the regular posters in this thread to say, "Want."

IWC have brought back the Gerald Genta Ingenieur in both steel and titanium.

If the Grand Seiko is just a bit downmarket, A. Lange & Sohne have announced the Odysseus Chronograph. It reminds me of the Aquanaut chronograph in its layout.

Rolex have several new models that will be available at your local grey market dealer before too long.

The Yacht-Master is now available in RLX Titanium. Ben Ainslie was spotted wearing a prototype, but his was a non-date, and, alas, that didn't make it to production.

The new 1908 is their dress watch and looks really nice. This one is in white gold, not steel. It also features a display back, as does the new platinum Daytona, which is a first for Rolex.

They've also come up with a crazy dial for the Oyster Perpetual, which is far cooler than anything else they do.

Aside from that, the Daytona has a new movement, there's a 40 mm Explorer, and a few other minor revisions in the line.
