The Sub is a great watch. I like them on the bracket the best. Non date model has the cleanest dial and purest look to it.

Yep.  I love the bracelet too.

Also useful when her hands are busy (i.e. minding the grand baby, pulling luggage, goofing with the dogs).

So many chances to make other hand jokes just missed.

Ben2t - I can highly recommend the Black Bay, but you've probably already seen my gushing on this thread. It's a great watch.

Qinhan - the bracelet looks best to me. I love the look of a really dinged-up and worn-in bracelet on a Sub.

Cant go wrong either way Ben. I have owned both and still have the BlackBay if that means anything.

@ben2t  - Your photos aren't showing very clearly for me but I gather the second one is a Rolex sub?  Love the "Blue Bay", by the way.

@Sugar Mountain - Any thoughts on preventing bracelet stretch?  I've read that using an ultrasonic cleaner to keep any nasty abrasive material out of the joints is the best way of ensuring the bracelet links stay nice and firm.

                            Strongly backed!

Regarding bracelet stretch, I don't have any tips. I take a more laissez faire approach to watch maintenance!

A quick Google reveals that bracelet stretch on stainless steel is down to wear. So one piece of advice was to clean it, for example with an ultrasonic cleaner.

Or you could just get it repaired eventually.

That's all one needs right there, IMO.

Just copped an ultrasonic cleaner online so I'm really curious to see what type of funky weirdness it manages to remove from my watch bracelet.

Or strong-arm me into buying a watch from them in any case. Thanks for your support.

Still, it's sorted. Well, nearly. Now I've got to figure out what I'll buy instead…

If I was sensible boring then I'd get a Rolex, probably the Milgauss. The new METAS rated Omegas appeal. The Globe Master is something that could be dressy or casual, but I probably wouldn't be able to resist one of the new, titanium Ploprofs. 😃

I have the Ploprof in steel and there a great watch. Before you buy the titanium one with glass back have a good look at it. It's a very different watch with a totally different feel. The new see master 300 is a good choice also.

I've seen the Ploprof in steel a while back. It's far too big and clunky to be a practical choice. I love it.

The new model is attractive because it's antimagnetic, and I spend a lot of time around computers and other electronics. It probably isn't really an issue, but my old Breitling was never a good timekeeper, so…
