Red Wing Shoes

Love my shop mocs, but I didn’t love the black laces and silver eyelets they came with, or the non-exposed edges around the foot. I decided to make them as close to the boot version as possible. I swapped the laces for the brown/black ones. I replaced the silver eyelets with brass. Then I trimmed the rolled edge off of the leather to expose as much tea-core edge as I could.
The eyelets will be replaced again soon. I did not have the correct anvil for the setter tool and it crushed the round profile. Aside from that, I’m loving the update. Small changes, but totally different vibe.

New leather drop. Really digging this Sandstone Mohave roughout.

Had to do it. I think this color is going to age nicely. It’s a good grayish brown, very light on the inside.

@WhiskeySandwich Nice! Love the Sandstone.

First new pair of Red Wings in a bit and inspired by you guys here in the thread. Briar Oil Slick Loggers. Took my Iron Ranger size and they’re roomy but great with some thick socks. Don’t think they’ll take much break-in either which is nice. I’ll try to get some more pics later. Anyway, really like them and remind me of my very first pair of Red Wings years ago which were some moc toes in this same leather.

@SKT I have the same, they are my favorite boots alongside the Moc toe Roughneck 2949 Black Oil Slick.
It's more comfortable than the White's, I only wear these two!
