If I wear a L in IH Flannels, could I wear a L in this and have room for a flannel underneath?
You should be fine depending on the flannel and its thickness. Below I am wearing a IHW-01(XL) over my IHSH-07(XL) for a little reference. Yes the Wool is a bit thicker on the newer versions but I was by no means uncomfortable.

Only one Black XL left at IHUK. I was thinking about grabbing a back up as my Black does not have Satin Lining…
Edit - And Finn, I think you would take a XXL especially with a T and a Flannel underneath.

el, me and I think there are many many more out there…and yeah,maybe a XXL would be better for layering for me...we'll see!
so I'm just crossingy fingers that there still will be one available when I'm out for a new item again...hopefully! -
I spoke to Haraki about the apparent tightness on the lower arm.
His response….There have been no changes to the pattern from last year, but the Melton wool is slightly thicker than last year, he thinks this is why it feels a little tighter. On the up side, as it is wool, he says it will stretch pretty easily.....
just so folks can see the mod isn't blowing smoke up their a$$es oh & finn layered like you mentioned you might want to go to DC4 & get the XXL, but i mean you did get your latest sizing right

i wear my xl over my ihd01od (large) and theres plenty of space. dont own a heavy flannel but would say theres plenty of room for one and i have builders forearms! plus, as its been said already, wool stretches. i'm also of the opinion that this shouldnt be worn too fitted, even when layering it keeps a perfect shape and fits well all over. its ironheart, its made properly!
