Does not wearing a belt when new allow these jeans to stretch in the waist, hip and thighs quickly??

More than not, yes… (well, in the waist, aint going to make any difference to the hips or thighs)...

Thanks Giles but how much more will I get then in the hip and thigh area by way of stretch if I wear these for the next month or so?

I was thinking about this last night.  It probably could be scientifically measured, but we'd have to include variables as arcane as:  How humid was it in the mill the day the denim was woven, what is the average staple length of the cotton used in the yarns, when was the loom last serviced etc etc etc.  So basically, it aint science….

All I can say for definite is you'll get some stretch.....

For what it's worth, I have yet to encounter another brand that is as meticulous in detailing the measurements and prospective evolution of their garments.  This demonstrates pride in the craftsmanship, knowledge of the product, and respect for the customer.  I am often dumbstruck at some of the other brand's/web shops' apparent apathy in this department; and sometimes customers take this for granted, or fail to understand the consideration.

This is merely an observation, and not a slight against a particular person or group.  I think we all appreciate the opportunity to ask questions, and receive thoughtful responses from people with first-hand knowledge.  I know I have freely exercised this privilege since my first day on the IHF.

When comparing the 555 with the 666N the differences in sizing aren't that big on paper.
In my opinion the 666 is a little too wide, so i am thinking about buying the 555 in size 36.
Does anybody can help with this decision?
                      Regards

I own two pairs of 666's and three pairs of 555's. The 555's are slimmer than the 666's because of the taper. That taper starts at the thigh on the 555's so although the thigh measurements are often similar to the 666's, the 555's fit snugger because the middle and bottom of the thigh is slimmer. They sit much tighter at the knee and continue to taper so if you have big calves be careful. The only other major difference is the rise, which is higher on the 555's. If that is not to your liking then the 777's might be an option.

Hey @IH666N - the largest difference is going to ht the Top Block and from the knee down. The 666 are going to be more trim in the top block, but fit more straight to the hem from the thigh. It's slimmer than the 634, but not a heavily tapered jean. I feel that the 555 have a similar top block (if not even more relaxed than the 666) but about 4 inches from the crotch, the 555 start to drastically taper down. The knee measure is the most indicative of this. My size 36 666XHS have a knee measure of about 9.5 (fresh out of a wash) while the sz 36 555-02 measure about 8.625 in the knee AFTER a few months of stretch. from the knee down, the calf and hem opening of the 555 will continue to taper, so the hem "should" always measure under the knee measurement, no matter how short you hem them.  The 666 should taper the same %, but will always leave a larger hem and baggier calf area than the 555.

                          Hope that helps!

                            Thanks for all the hints!
Compared to my best fitting Jeans the 777 seems to be my choice just from measurement.
Will give you an update when i have bought one.

You should definitely wash them, though. It will help them last longer and they'll probably look killer after a wash.

I'm afraid a seawash, with all the salt and sand that entails will only shorten the lifespan of the jeans (and fail to clean them in the process). Your jeans, your rules though. And they do look lovely.
