Climbed on top of the truck to remove my roam adventure co cases and found this. Imagine my surprise.
I have no idea how this happened. It looks like one was smashed and another had a blow torch taken to it.

-
@worn2fade that is strange!
-
@worn2fade Interesting. My best guess would be that you were parked in a spot where the glass of a building concentrated the sun onto those cases.
A skyscraper in London was responsible for similar damage back in 2013. They had to add a brise soleil the following year to fix the issue.

Thanks for the insight man, it seems like you’re correct cause I contacted roam and they’re saying the same thing.
“From what I see in the photos (and what we typically see in rare cases like this), that kind of damage can sometimes be caused by an intense reflected heat source, basically sunlight bouncing off something like glass or metal and concentrating heat onto one spot. It’s not common, but we’ve seen it happen in certain environments.”
The guy said he’s going to look into whether the warranty can cover this. I’m hopeful since he didn’t tell me straight up I’m out of luck, but we’ll see.
I just can’t even recall a place that I parked next to that could’ve possibly done that.
-
Update: warranty doesn’t cover it but they offered me 30% off on whatever I want lol. Saving it for their 180 awning when I have the dough to splurge on it

Picked this up a couple months ago and love it so far. Want to do some things to it but love the way it is stock. Maybe kings suspension? But might need to save some coins for that lol -
Reconfigured my roof rack situation. Instead of having the dual cases, I took one off & added my cross bars. This way I can have storage in one case & have space on the other side to strap down my surfboard.
I currently have the other case listed for sale but if it doesn’t sell I’ll throw it back on the truck and take it off whenever I need that extra space.

Got rid of the 4Runner guys, I’m now part of the GX470 gang!
I took off the basket already haha

-
@worn2fade oh yeah! How do you like it? Is it more comfortable if a ride? From what I've read they are just as reliable and off road capable. Can't wait to see what you do with it!

Cleaned up!

I bought this a few months back.

Taking this build slow, so far just removed the side steps. Plan on getting tires soon.

@Lukenstein this one is a torque monster! -
@Clint_D dude that thing is sick!!
Edit: where’d you even find that thing?

4 years now with my Isuzu D-max and she hasn’t missed a beat. 2’ lift on 33’ Maxxis Razr’s with bronze Method billet rims. The rims are an overkill for this ute but I had them sitting around in one of my sheds and they just so happened to fit.
As a package this forby is more than capable enough for the type of 4x4 I do these days

-
@Lukenstein I drive one of these every day as a work ute and have personally owned a 76 for 7 years before moving it on. They are a good bus. Congratulations on the acquisition

@Rustygate37
Judging by that beautiful sunburnt scenery, I’m going to say that you are also in the beautiful land of Australia -
@Lukenstein yeah mate, you got it in one
