4x4’s & Overlanding
-
@Lukenstein yeah mate, you got it in one
-
@worn2fade Appreciate it! I had it shipped from California back in 2023. The diesel Cayenne's are hard to find in good condition, I had been looking for about 6 months before I found this one.
-
Moved my ditch lights from up on the hood/windshield down and out to slightly in front of my side views mirrors. The bracket will even allow for the mirrors to be folded in on tighter spots, think they were form Ronin Metalworks but I ordered them a long time ago and just found em again.

-
@GoodtimeJohnny sick man! Ima get some CVLbuilt race mirrors that I can attach Baja’s too for my GX.
Here’s a pic:

-
@worn2fade Those look awesome! If mine was a dedicated trail rig 100% I'd order them
-
My buddy is wrapping up a 1976 Bronco build. Beautiful machine.

-
@worn2fade Scratch that,I liked them so much I sent the guy a DM. We'll see how much he wants
-
@mclaincausey that is a beauty! need to get mine back on the road...

I was about to say.. forget the dedicated trail rig excuse! Mine is a daily and ima still grab those eventually

I know for the GX they’re $300ish for just the assembly. Mirrors are $20 on Amazon and lights are separate. -
@tody nice! I think this one will rarely see off-roading. Lots of emotional attachment. He’ll show it I think and certainly drive it thought.
Here is the one for actual off-road adventures next to this one earlier in its restoration.

-
@worn2fade That's about what I was expecting, which really isn't bad concidering the fab and r&d work he's already done! Looking at the IG pics of them on a taco i'm in love!
-
@mclaincausey that looks more like mine in it's current state. i kinda like the beaten down look.
if i only could figure out that damn ticking noise in the engine and why it is pulling to one side when braking hard... i'm not new to this, but this is leaving me scratching my head.
-
@goosehd based on frequency it's cam rpm, not crank rpm. heads completely rebuilt, so it's not a valve. all lifters cleaned and reassembled. only guess is that a lifter is losing pressure under load, because the noise takes some time to appear after startup. don't really want to break in new lifters on this old cam...
-
@goosehd like all my classics - mostly driven just to the shop and back.

I have way too much stuff...
Plan is to go through the front end first, finally dial in the diff properly (you need a spreader for the housing on a dana 30) and double check the brakes in the process. Engine has been this way ever since i slapped it back together when i got the rig, so it'll survive some kms more i guess.
