I’d like to give a shout to a couple of somewhat newer brands Patagonia fans might enjoy.

On the more serious mountaineering side, there’s Himali out of Boulder, CO. Stylish, but mostly pretty serious gear with good warmth to weight. They are having a sale currently.

On the more stylish, bougie side there is Stio of Jackson, WY. Still technical, but a bit more stylish.

      Think it, be it.

I went for a Montane jacket this Fall in favour of a Patagonia. Very similar in terms of style and quality

@wjw That's right, it's the light version of Patagonia's serious cold temperature DAS belay jacket.

This season the DAS light hoody got updated with internal pockets to stow gloves or a hat away. The two-way zipper is owed to it being a belay jacket, however I don't really use it as such.

My trusty battered Nano Puff got stolen and I replaced it with the DAS light. I'd argue that this jacket can do whatever the Nano Puff can do, but better. It's more wind resistend and warmer. Not really a jacket for high output activities since it's not really breathable. It's funny how light it is for its warmth.

I cannot recommend this jacket enough.

PS: This season's version has also been updated with a waist draw cord. Around town I wear as you can see in the picture. For belaying or just for standing around in the cold, I could even cover my butt by loosening the draw cord.

@RobeOfTheMagi how's the sizing compared to IH on this?

As a belay jacket it runs rather large. I went for a looser fit. I wear a large but I could also wear a medium for a more fitted look - I am about 180cm and 80kg.

My oldest Patagonia garment I still own, is this work shirt.
                      A non brushed 6oz flannel.
Bought in the early 90’ direct from the representative.
Made in Portugal and very durable.

Would buy an IHSH with matching pocket patterns in a heartbeat.
