Surfing/Kite-surfing and the like

I used to live a few blocks from Bob "Ole" Olson's shop and was lucky enough to have him make me one of his legendary long boards. Plenty of great days on this thing all over westside Maui.

@Go-For-Chill Awesome! That’s a beautiful board.
Side note: My brother works at a surfboard shop doing repairs and helping shape boards. Joe Roper’s in San Diego.

Just picked up a new (to me) Quiet flight 6’5 Black Marlin. Found a pretty good deal on Facebook marketplace.
Side story: The seller listed the board as used once. I stupidly didn’t ask questions and assumed it was in perfect condition. When I got there the board had a ding on it that was repaired but didn’t look too good. Previous owner said the ding was on the board since he walked out the shop, he hit it against his car door accidentally before he was able to even ride the board. I’ve repaired a previous board I owned and it turned out quite nice, so I decided to do a repair on top of the not-so-nice-looking repair it already had.
Here’s a couple shots of the board. I threw some suncure on the ding and it’s currently curing. After this is done I’ll be sanding it down.
The board also has front pads that I’m not digging much. I rode the board yesterday and those pads killed my nips. I might even remove the foot pad and swap it out with another, not a huge fan of the blue.
Once I’m done with all this stuff I’ll throw an update on here.
Regardless, I’m stoked with the board. Had to sell my 5’11 Anti Hero QF board since I gained weight and it was just a tad too small for my liking.
