Lynne a tool roll for cars would certainly require larger tools (and rolls). They are as small and light as possible on bikes.
I think that a denim as thin as 14 oz would perfectly suffice for a bike tool roll.
Ermmmm…although my dream tool roll would be made of brown duck!!!

      The journey is the objective.

          Denim placemats?

Wifey bought these at Walmart for $5 but it’ll be cool to swap these out with some 21oz goodness haha

@worn2fade we just got a new coffee table and (thankfully) read reviews ahead of time that it gets ring stains easily. We've been in the market too.

@worn2fade your wish is my command! A batch of 11 coasters is going live this/next week, I believe.

              Here’s a preview of what’s coming.

What’s nice about these is that the lining is made from a woman’s shirt so you get more details on the back. One even has a pocket - quirky I know, but it’s a large coaster and a mug/beer bottle sits comfortably away on the front side from the snap on the back so there’s no wobble.

@Lynne Do you dig the placemat idea specifically? I know it may require much more material so I wasn’t sure how realistic it may be.

@worn2fade aaah, I can see they’re placemat size now. I feel they may be too fabric hungry for what I have and ergo too expensive for people to buy, especially as they’d probably want sets of them. But I can see that if we had rolls of fabric and flannel for lining that these would be easy to make. If I get an influx of Relove pieces (shout out to people to send in their worn shirts and jeans 🙏) then I’ll keep this in mind for sure.
                      Added to my list 🙂

Excuse my indulgence in this thread, but I wanted to show you a pair of beautiful old sewing chairs I rescued from a friend’s factory this week.

They may look like this now, but I have high hopes of transforming the upholstery into something like that created on this chair of dreams. I will be stitching together the tiniest scraps from my own personal fabric stash and then, if successful, potentially creating small cushions for Relove.

Could this be the most beautiful chair in the world?!

@goosehd I’d like to feature curvy designs such as waves/interlocking circles around the curved edges and plain running stitches with some crosses in a heavier thread for the base as this seat will need to be hard wearing. So, a very simple base, like the chair shown - and then something more decorative for the seat back perhaps using a threaded stitch for more texture (I never use a seat back, so it can be less rugged). Not too much as the chair and fabric speak volumes already. I’m not an upholsterer, so I’ll probably build straight on to what’s there as it’s all metal underneath. I’ll post updates once I’ve gathered the scraps and drawn up the design.
