This dream bike has been years in the making.  Outside of a possible upgrade to the brake rotors it’s finally complete.

          1. Those handlebars  ??? Beyond insane.

          2. That bike looks like it's going insanely fast just standing still

Congrats on the build and making it happen, @BloodnThunder. That's a special one.

Thanks @henry_david.  Yeah most observers have their mind blown when they get a look at the cockpit up close.  It's, umm, unique.

Also, picked up that 1995 Ritchey. Not entirely sure if it's a Crazy Pete or a P-22.

Original owner bought it as a frame and fork, and then slowly built it up with parts that were strictly from the era. I took it to my local shop and had them upgrade a few things, as well as put on some items for my personal taste. Switched the stem and handlebar for black ones that we had laying around, new grips, new Panaracer Gravel King tires, all new brake and shift cables, new brake pads, and a new Brooks C17 saddle.

Plan to upgrade the pedals next, then the handlebar, and maybe upgrade the gear shifter to something more clean looking.

please excuse the crappy rainy day pics.

Ritchey right on down to the brakes themselves. Jesus that's a sweet rig. I always liked those old bullmoose handlebars from Ritchey – that'd be what I went with here. Super glad to see that you picked it up after all, @chrisjohnnick.

He had original Ritchey tires, and a gold stem and gold handlebar as well. I just preferred black. Local shop had an old Ritchey stem that they sold me for $30, threw the black handbar in for free. I'm always a fan of classic bullhorn style handlebars, but might just pick up a straight black Ritchey stem from eBay or something. Those Bullmoose ones are cool, but I prefer a more flat bar.

Great call man. I also like having a bunch of Ritchey parts on my Swiss Cross. Something super cool about that sorta vibe.

@Nkwkfld Yes.  Jumbo-Visma races the S5 on most single day and stage race stages that don't have massive elevation gain (they'll race the R5 on those days).

I use a quad lock on my gravel bike, great bit of kit and my phone sits solid.

I'd encourage you to go with a bike specific computer over using your phone.  They are much smaller and more compact, many have GPS capability if that's what you're looking for, are weatherproof, and much easier to replace should a crash happen.

@BloodnThunder – Seconded. I just copped a Wahoo ELMNT Bolt (the updated one) and it's been a pleasure to use. I also don't have a smart phone as a daily (it's used to sync the Bolt and that's it) and so I can have the added functionality of GPS without alerts taking me away from my ride.

Add another vote in favour of dedicated bike computer. My garmin edge 830 makes it very easy to follow new routes I draw on strava.

Love my Wahoo bike computer. My previous computer was a Garmin Edge 1000, and it was nice, but the UI was shit, and it didn't like connecting to other devices without a little encouragement.
