Hey everyone. Morgan and I are headed to the UK and Ireland June 13th-July 7th. We are super stoked.

    We will be in:
    Ireland 6/13-6/19
    England 6/20-6/30
    Scotland 6/31-7/7

Those are the rough dates anyhow.

Most of our England trip is planned, but I was hoping for some recommendations for Ireland and Scotland. We like off the beaten path type travel, but also don’t want to miss any must see locales either.

Thanks in advance for any and all advice!!

@Tago-Mago well, we have some friends who are from Devon/ Exeter area. They are pretty much mapping out that leg of our trip for us. Headed to Gosport of course to say “Cheerio” to the blokes.

Our friends have a boat so we plan to do some fishing and tour the south coast some. Those are the only plans for England I’m privy to at the moment.

Scotland is pretty massive, so it'll help to know where you'll be, but if you're near Edinburgh and feel like going a little north to Dunkeld, you won't want to miss this fantastic little village. Stay at the Taybank hotel, and enjoy the beer garden and some killer pizza (and other goodies) on the river bank. Absolutely magical.

So excited for you and Morgan! This is a dream trip for our family and we are wanting to do it in the next few years. Can’t wait to see what you guys do and take many notes. And @endo what a resource!! Ok if I save them too?

@Mizmazzle we stayed there for only one night, and I wish it were way more. There also a pub on the ground level of the hotel, and a killer whisky shop around the corner with tons of rare finds.

If you're interested in learning and hearing a bit of traditional music in a few bars with a few pints I'd definitely do this again if I was in Dublin. https://www.musicalpubcrawl.com/

Also had a great time getting out to dun Aonghasa on inishmore, visiting the cliffs of moher, going to newgrange and knowth, and driving around the dingle peninsula. Some great seafood there too if out of the blue is still there.

I'm from Scotland, I really love up North (I'm in Glasgow, so city life...) I always travel to Aviemore to see Thunder in The Glen (motorbike tour thing) around August
Aviemore is one of my favourite places in Scotland as it's somewhat out the way, the Cairngorms are beautiful too and the landscapes. Could visit some "lochs" too (lakes)

Dishoom is not to be missed in Edinburgh if you’re looking for a great Indian meal. They have about a dozen locations across the UK (3 in London, if I’m not mistaken), but the one is Edinburgh is very special. Get the black dal.
