Here you go @SKT Shop pic 1962. This is the second shop. First one burnt down in 1902. This new shop was up and running by Dec. 1902.

Nest one is the oldest made by John around 1850. Second pic is also at the Gruber wagon works. This wagon is older then Grubers.

They made about 40 wagons a year, Also made anything from wood beside wagons. Made lots of wheels sold to different wagons makers.

Here is me with a copy of the little wagon that us twins made in 1994. We started up the wagon shop making little wagons and any size wheels big and small

@twin thanks for posting this! I really enjoy seeing the craftsmanship and history. I’m guessing your family’s wagons were used by many over a huge area at some point. Great stuff. With your knowledge of your family history, do you know when your ancestors came over to the states and from where? I may start a genealogy thread sometime and see if anyone else is interested in this stuff.

Feeling a little disturbed. Over the past few months, I've been in the process of moving. Not only myself, but my daughter, as well. The end is in sight. My daughter is all settled in her dorm, and I'm about 1/2 way settled into my new digs. Needless to say, there has been a lot of packing and unpacking going on. I'm leaving for Gosport in 2 days, and while I'm eager to get that party started, I'm finding it difficult to get packed. I'm just so sick of packing, right now. What's most disturbing is, it actually gave rise to the thought, however brief, of going to Gosport with only the clothes on my back, and buying new gear when I get there. Pretty sick, huh ?

@scooter I guess Gosport is the place if you’re going to do this! Could be quite liberating and no guilt about buying stuff at the party 😃

@ARNC @goosehd , those thoughts did cross my mind, as well. The problem is, I've got way too much gear, already. Bringing home new stuff wouldn't be practical. Don't get me started on the financial aspects, either. Paying for a college education has already put great restrictions on my clothing budget...

@scooter Since I haven't been to an official party before, is there impromptu swaps/sells that occur while you're there? Could you bring a couple of items that you don't wear as much with the thoughts of bringing something new home? Maybe bring two pairs of jeans (shirts, jackets, etc.) with the thoughts of bringing a new pair home.

Hope everyone in the Western Carolinas / Appalachia is doing alright after Helene. I know @sabergirl is pretty close to the worst areas being flooded after the storm.

Got a lot of family in the area and the pictures they've been sending are crazy with ~2feet of rainfall during the storm which was right after an already very wet/rain week before. Still a lot of them are without cell phone and water.

I agree Mo. Mike looked tired as soon as he got in the ring. Like he didn’t really want to be there. Glad he’s ok…but overall one boring ass fight.

Ive been lusting after a biker jacket, specifically the Horse, but while I gather some funds, I bought a cheap cowhide jacket. I didnt like the fit, the colour, the waxiness of the leather so I set about doing everything that one should not do to a leather jacket… and it went from this:

Im gonna try breaking some more rules!

                                          thanks @Mister_Brue

there was the initial ‘hard stare’ where i just glared at it strongly and wished i hadn’t gone down the false economy road once again. There might even have been some naughty words, which i think is often overlooked when distressing clothes. Whilst not affecting the leather in any way whatsoever, I think it at least beat the jacket’s morale. Next was the hot soak at an indeterminate temperature for about an hour. Then I rang it out taking special care to not take any care, and threw it on the floor with distain. More liberal swear words were tossed in when i realised this thing would take a while to dry, so I hung it in the bomb shelter for a two days. I live in England. Its December. It froze. More swearing. It was now brittle and it squeaked like a clown’s shoes. So I turned the electric blanket on, self medicated, and slept in it for about 20hours. Then it was a liberal coating of mink oil. (probably the ONLY recommended action on this list). To speed up the penetration of the mink oil, it went straight onto a very hot radiator. When dry, I just went at-it with some green meanies, and when that didn’t work, some 180 sandpaper. The final touch was kicking it along a concrete floor.
                                          Simple really
