Honestly, I've been on the fence here for a while. Mostly I was scared away by some amazon reviews, but reading them closer the other day I realized it was more related to the screw cap than the product. I'm also really intrigued by the tube packaging for travel purposes rather than a bulky cylinder or metal tin. There were a few other brands I'm interested to try too (no pong, routine, and maybe one or two others) but figure I'd trust the handful of forum guys over a bunch of randos on amazon.

Yup! This AKT stuff is nice. Love the smell of the “After Thunder.” Cedar is probably my favorite aroma in general so this is lovely.

Glad you like it. It’s the most effective 24 hour deodorant I’ve ever used. With traditional deodorant I start smelling bad same day. Same with the common natural options. With this I’m good until day 2. I know I sound like a plant but after accepting my fate as a smelly guy this stuff has been a true revelation

Alright I have both After Thunder and Orange Grove now and they both smell so good I want to wear ‘em as cologne. @Matt many thanks my friend for introducing me to this stuff. The forum always delivers

@Matt now I’m curious about those Fulton & Roarke smelly sprays you mentioned. We went to this natural botanical perfumery when we were in Ireland. They made everything on site from botanicals native to the Burren area we were in. Really cool but still a bit too female purfumey for my tastes. Looking for something kinda like the AKT scent profile in a cologne type thing.

Those solid fragrances look interesting.

@Mizmazzle the Cult Favorites Discovery set is a good place to start. I got the full discovery set and saved the ones I liked. I think the Cult Favorites are all included in the ones I saved.

I just ordered the Cult Favorites Discover set for funsies (since @Matt's AKT rec seems spot-on) . For beard oil, I like Apothecary87 Vanilla and Mango ... your results may vary of course.

@Matt think I’ll give it a shot. Looks to be what I’ve been after.

@anodyne Wish I could grow a beard worthy of some type of oil…it would just make the skin patches that don’t grow in look shiny. Then I’d have to put the AKT on the shiny patchy spots to reduce shine.

Just ordered the custom discovery set from Fulton &Roarke. Picked out some scents that seemed intriguing. Stoked to try em!

Don't want to spoil the party, but I thought it might be helpful to say that I don't think the AKT deodorant is that great for me.

pros:

• works well against sweat
• smells good (got the grey)

cons:

• is applied with the hands, which then smell all day long. I hate that.
• it‘s fucking expensive
• the tube cap is difficult to handle

I‘ll stick with my Speick.
