I think that might be the one I was eyeing. Wish I could find a brass comb to match my other gear lol

Thanks G, hadn't searched too deep yet, the comment came from a lack at my normal sources. Have since found a few, but some of these look nicer.

After searching the Izola fine & dandy combs pictured in the link G provided, it seems those are simply brass plated. This spurred a deeper search and while I can't seem to find a ready made solid brass comb, I did come across someone that makes custom metal combs. The company is Metal Comb Works, to which I've inquired about this one off. Will update once I have details to share

Using the Feather Artist SS straight razor.  Convenience of a disposable blade in a straight razor design.  I have had various straight razors in the past but never found the skill or patience to keep them as sharp as I need for a decent drag free shave.

thinking about getting one now that i am growing a beard- want to keep my neck clean so i'll actually be shaving (odd that getting a beard led to more shaving by me).  do the pros of straight razor shaving outweigh the cons?

I would say the pros of straight and double edge ( DE ) razors outweigh regular Gillette cartridge type razors.

Using a DE or straight set up can really help eliminate ingrowing hairs. Cartridge razors gave me very bad razor burn and ingrown hairs. This is the reason I moved to shaving with a DE razor and then progressing on to the straight.

Learning a proper shave technique including preparation is where you get most benefit, whether this be with a DE or straight razor.

Picked up some new shave cream and aftershave balm from a small German company called Tabula Rasa.  Their products have picked up a bit of a cult status across the shave forums, excellent products but difficult to find.  They now have a UK importer so I picked up some of the "Shave Punk" scented cream.

Very impressed by it, proper manly ( Grrrrrr!! ) smell, no hints of anything floral in this scent, wood notes and spices involved here.

The cream is almost like a mousse in consistency.  A hazel nut size piece of cream worked into the end of your shave brush is all you need, I have been using a shave bowl to work the cream into a lather before applying.

Definitely worth checking out if you are looking for a new shave cream.

I am a heavy sweater in any heat….after years of looking, finally found two brands that actually stop my odor for at least 12 hours! Nothing ever performed near this before. Plus they are 100% all natural.

Razorock sells a spray which is convenient.

I also use primal paste. Tried the orange creamsicle paste and loved it. Smells great and last 12-24 hours.

@Jordonf9 thanks for that, I will have to try those out.

Within the past few years I've been trying to use as many natural grooming products as I can.  Not because I'm converting to a hipster but simply because so many of these products are chock full of chemicals that just aren't meant to be absorbed through the pores of human skin.  Some of the over the counter stuff just sounds like cancer in a bottle and I'd rather not go down that road if I can help it.  I've found great all natural pomades/clays/pastes, face washes, shave soaps, beard oils, etc….you get the gist.  The one thing that just hasn't worked for shit for me have been all natural deodorants.  I've only tried a couple and I just gave up and ended up going back to my aluminum (that's proper English for aluminium) laden trusty old grocery store favorites.

                                I'll give these a shot.

Sorry to hear about natural deodorant bit working for you. Weird that it is the complete opposite for me. I used Dove before switching over to these two brands. I have a decent size order coming in tomorrow of primal paste and one of them is a strong formula jar, which the normal stuff works for me. I tried a few other brands that do all natural and they didn't work, but happy these two do. I'd give the bottle I posted a shot as it's only $4! Seals the stink out great for me, while not feeling like my pores are blocked.

can any of you recommend any non-staining deoderants? Am I correct in assuming that any deoderant with aluminum as an ingredient will leave pit stains?

@manufc10 today I had a serious sweat day, multiple times. I allied the spray when I woke, wore my Merino wool shirts and lightly applied my new pit paste stick deodorant before going down to work on the house. I was dripping bullets for at least 2 hours tonight and not once did I smell any odor. You have to try either or both…I never had products work this well.

Thanks man, I'll have to check them out.  I honestly don't have much of a problem with odor it's a problem with sweating.  I will sweat like crazy when I'm active.  I'm sure the forum is just thrilled to know all of this info about us btw.

I personally use Anthony Logistics deodorant.  In my experience it leaves no stain and smells good.  $20 a stick isn't the cheapest option but I feel good about what I'm getting.
