@alexxedge Thanks! Just some amateur shots for a class assignment. Shot with a DSLR in full-manual mode. It was a really sunny day, so I was doing my best with the blasting sun and trying to make use of it.

@seawolf the third and fourth images in the first set are killer. That building is incredible looking, too.

@alexxedge Thank you so much! This is the Geisel Library at the University of California San Diego campus, which is named after Theodore Geisel. If that name doesn't sound familiar, maybe this image will give you a hint. He was from Massachusetts, but he lived and died in San Diego.

@seawolf The Geisel Library and the Salk Institute are two gems. I don't think I could ever get bored of looking at them through a camera lens.

@seawolf Just curious,What was the assignment. I once had a photography assignment where you had to imagine shooting through the eyes of an insect. Probably not this.

@derek111 You're not kidding! The library was a little intimidating at first because it's so big, and there's so much to work with. Once I dove in, the shots started taking themselves.

Dinking around with the new camera over the past few weeks when able. I was very hesitant to get this camera because of the new metering method compared to the ones I had which were just like the original film versions, but I might be completely converted on it now. It's been doing such an excellent job with the metering that I rarely need to adjust the exposure. Makes me half wonder if I should have gone for an M11D now.... Oh, and I charged it up on the ~25th and the battery is still around 70% after many hours of walking with it turned on and ~100 shots. Fantastic camera that will be with me for a very long time.

Thanks guys. I've been shooting for a long while but feel like I've lost a bit of my vision and inspiration and have mostly only done photography on trips for the past ~8 years. Getting back into casual, more everyday shooting feels good.

@pechelman Really enjoyed them especially the last one. Currently going through a photography lull as well. Going to Florida on Wednesday to visit my son,and plan on bringing a camera. Maybe something will peak my interest.

That last one in particular was a good kick in the ass for me as to why I should carry a camera more often. We passed this sign on the way back home not more than ~45mins later and the little note was wiped away.

Enjoy your trip and hope you come back with some good shots!

@pechelman When I was just getting photography,I had a really wonderful photography mentor, and the only condition he gave me in order for him to work with me was that I can never say...I wish I'd had my camera. I,for one, am glad you took that shot,as the other age old adage is...We miss 100% of the shots we don't take.

a couple more to share. I guess it shows that I'm pertty tired of winter. And I wish I could take credit for the timing on the shot with the pigeon landing, but it was coming in totally obscured by the camera & lens when I released the shutter, but I'll take it.
