bokeh generally = background blurriness / unfocus
see sunflower pic up there, "smooth" bokeh
some quality lenses optimized for smooth bokeh
though this is all very subjectivesometimes a lens will have a "sweet spot", a particular f stop that gives very nice bokeh
wanna see bokeh porn? google leica noctilux bokeh

I liked that pic until you said it was a bit harsh, now I can't look at it without the background dominating
Yeah - that 4th pic is really shit . . . but at least it makes the others look better in comparison . . .
It's probably best to get jaco to critique all your work before posting

^ Haha, I'll try to achieve that for ya….........
If you are able to view, here's a thread on "Bokeh" on a Sneaker Forum I visit:

nice pics Finn, as always
3 posts up, all same lens?
the sunflower pic has smooth, pleasant bokeh
but the 4th one (not sure, is that a grass or wheat?) bokeh is a bit harsh
perhaps just the web downsizing
always enjoy seeing your pics
thanks for postingyap all the posts on this site are taking with the same lens (just have one btw
!)…
yeah the background may be a bit harsh, but cuz the focus is just on the front, the back is totally blownout...thanks for the nice words guys
@Geo:

yeah might really have to do this :D…but as i hosted the pic i really didn`t see that the bokeh on the pic was so messed up.
just was watching the front part of the pic, where actually all the focus be on -
alright now you feckers
critique sounds like a negative thing
when just discussing and comparing…anyway, yes you can get into bokeh talk
much the same as discussion of Japanese denim and fades etc
it can get deep...Cris understands, seeing lots of nice bokeh from your pics
