            @dinobarnesberlin

If you’re looking for an „always with you“ it doesn’t get much better than the X100V I think. For travel though you might have to consider the Tele lens adapter so you have just that little bit more flexibility.

Or, if you want to have to most compact solution but with the full flexibility, have a look at the XE4. There’s some great compact lenses (18mm f2, 27mm 2.8, 35mm f2 etc. etc..).

You can find the XE4 for much less than the X100V and can spend the money on glass. It’s no X100 though and many people (including me) see the fixed lens of the X100 as a feature rather than a bug because it makes you walk and stop thinking about which lens to chose.

Oh and the Ricoh GR3 can’t be ignored here. Even more compact, phenomenal camera! Perfect for street & lightweight travel No Fuji Recipes…

            Hope this helps 😉

            Use it or lose it.

@weftyarn Big help man.. Looked at the Ricoh, the Sony rx 100v11, and various others in that range. Was even shifting my sights to the XT5
              .
Will continue shooting with the trusty D750 for now.
The wife will be going to Poznan in the coming week or so.
She will be on the lookout for the x100v while there.

              thanks man

@Jett129 The term street photography is strange tbh. I would rephrase it to „when life happens photography“ 😅
And life definitely happened in your shots 😉

I tend to shy away from wildlife photography because most of the time a picture of a monkey is just that, but occasionally a picture of an animal is more than a snapshot and I think you accomplished that with the second B&W shot of the monkey as his expression makes the image all that much more thought provoking. @weftyarn

Have to agree that wildlife is weird. It’s incredibly more difficult to tell stories. And it’s almost impossible to shoot animals without them noticing. When they’re really wild they’re gone the moment they notice you. Watih, the Orang Utan on the picture, is semi wild and used to humans. There were moments it actually seemed like he posed for us. Incredible experience.

some of the others were less great... but it's a learning curve I suppose 😆

my lomo lca is officially bust after some coffee spills, yet another one. I've not been looking but came across a Canonet QL17 that seems like a handy replacement. does anybody have any thoughts on it? would like to hear some feedbacks/comparisons..

I've had a Canon AE1 before which I've loaned to me cousin. that's a little bulky to my liking nowadays.

For folks who've been to Japan or similar places, will I regret bringing a monochrom camera as my only camera?

I'll have a cell phone too take quick snaps and have done other big trips with only this camera. Bringing both I guess is an option but really wanting to streamline and also considering just bringing a 50mm.

@pechelman 50mm is decent for Japan's city streets, depending on your style. I've always found 50mm to be decent for street shooting. out in nature might be a different story.

monochrom or not, really depends on what you like. Japan tends to be colourful with it bright city lights which might make good pictures. but depending on the mood, monochrome can be pretty too, especially in the day..
