Hey everyone.  Got a question for you all.  I snapped some pictures today and noticed a few things.  I read there are some benefits to direct sunlight vs. indirect sunlight.  Here is a picture of direct sunlight OD:

Now.  I know there is a difference going on here.  But I'm not sure what exactly its called or what its doing to picture… please help a noob out.  Thanks everyone!

not to sound to abrupt but you have kind of answered your own question .
one has sunlight and one does not allthough it may be a bit more technical it depends what you are looking for .
the second picture (indirect ) is better but there are a lot better and more technical photographers on here than me ,direct sunlight has its place but its just knowing when and where to use it and what you want from the picture ..
kind of like looking at the sun then just turning to one side and looking ,make any sense ?

Haha. I guess I was just looking a little too far into it. I didn't know if there was like a specific term or something I was missing. But I agree with you. The 2nd one does look better.  But thanks for the response!

mmmm an app not sure as you can see i still use film cameras and a super 8 cine camera i am a dinosaur not to savvy with any thing with a chip in it .
