Jacques Marie Mage (JMM) - Sunglasses and Frames…

It’s all good. I know no one had any ill-intent.
-
@pechelman Awesome Quentins!
My first pair just arrived (Cash in Folsom) and I'm stoked. Second pair is already on it's way, and I can tell this might be a budding problem...
-
nice score @SonnyTheElder !
-
Going back to Perth means going back to my JMM dealer.. ended up with a couple pairs. Limited edition Herbie collection and a pair of vendome in a beautiful greyish blue (Mink I think they call it)
Also had a reminder of how much the price increased looking through my old stuff. First pair in 2019, only AUD775. Nowadays they’re AUD1200 and above!!

-
@Kasi yeah some of the special collaboration ones have insane prices. luckily the AUD is in a good spot for me right now to get some.
-
@louisbosco the new frames look good, and I agree that the prices have gone up a long way.
Incidentally, OnePointSevenFour (in Sydney and Melbourne) has a sale on, which includes some JMM styles.
-
@Graeme shame its hard deciding what I like with frames over the internet..
-
@louisbosco that's true. It's hard enough in a shop.
-
Decided to keep the Smoke Fade Ichikawa after all (they somehow grew on me after I said I didn't like them on me), and bought another one in Beige.
The top ones (Black) are my prescription sunglasses (blue), the middle ones (Smoke Fade) are my daily optical glasses and the bottom ones (Beige) are yet to be determined.
-
Jacques Marie Mage have just released a range of foldable frames that they call the Éditions Pliables. I particularly like the Archibald. I don't, however, like the price.
-
next pair of Earls , they are so comfortable to wear .
-
Love how the colour pops in the sun
-
I noticed that my 85 % blue-tinted glasses weren’t the best for daily use when it comes to blocking the sun. So I went to the optician and ordered 85% grey-tinted prescription lenses for my black pair of Ichikawas instead. I then had them install the blue-tinted lenses from the black pair into my beige pair of Ichikawas. Now the beige pair has a purpose and will be worn in less extreme sunlight conditions.

Does anyone have any advice for hard cases? I received a preordered pair of Walkers in Bloodstone today (and they are excellent), but they don't seem to fit very well in the provided soft leather case. Is this a known quirk of the Walkers (which seem to have extra material around the rims, making them thicker)? Will a JMM hard case fit better?

In answer to my own question - I dropped into the new JMM retail store in London today and they were more than happy to swap out the soft case for a Longhorn hard case. Apparently it’s a common problem for some pairs to not fit well in the soft case.
The staff there were great and I was able to try on lots of different frames. I’d recommend it to anyone who finds themselves in west London and has some time to kill.

@ackoasis are they the 44 or 47mm?

Having said that - I’ve just encountered a potential downside to visiting the boutique… After trying on a few pairs of Fellinis I decided I’d really like a pair one day, then ended up buying an Indigo pair that I stumbled across while browsing the internet on the way home!
