Sent off a pair of JMM to get the lenses replaced and went to track it today on UPS and...

"A hazardous materials irregularity occurred with this package. We'll contact the sender with additional information. / The package will be returned to the sender."

What I've read online is sometimes this means the package came in contact with another package that was leaking. Unfortunately the label provided by the lens replacement company has their address as both the shipping and return address. It also says they're returning to Venice, CA and the company has moved to Colorado/the original label said Colorado.

Posting here as some sort of therapy exercise. A pair of expensive sunglasses being stuck in UPS limbo/hell has made for an awful night, I don't even care about the lens replacement anymore lol.

17 days later, and after being literally left at a construction site in Venice by UPS my glasses miraculously made their way back to me. Hoping I can spread a bit of my luck on to you @Mizmazzle !

I haven't seen any photos of these online but I found them at a good price and took a gamble, and I think they might be my favorite pair I own now. Really tempted to maybe sell another pair to justify buying the Havana colorway while I still can. I was worried the gold would be a little too flashy but gosh I love them.

So it looks like the Dealan 53 isn't on JMM's site anymore, and there don't seem to be any pairs in stock anywhere — anybody have any insight into this? Discontinued?

@popvulture I think I had read on the styleforum thread that it was being discontinued a few months back. Is there one you're looking for in particular? Feel like ive seen a few for sale on the fb group recently.

@pechelman nah, just sort of wondering — I had a pair of 53s a while back but now have a pair of the regulars (the ones for sale in my thread). I've got a pretty big head, so the 53s are really sort of ideal for my face, but I prefer the more aggressive lines of the regular Dealan. I'd love it if they'd reintroduce the 53 with a little more of that original Dealan DNA. Who knows.

ah, gotcha. and yes, completely agree on the sizing vs styling of the differently dealans. The 53's were my first and still favorite pair of JMM's. The regular dealans fit but felt a little small for me too.

Yeah, I was never really sure why the bigger size needed to be more subdued. We'll see if they make a return — I'm totally curious what they have planned.

Damn, that’s a bummer because I agree - I really prefer the 53 on my face and they seem to draw the most questions and compliments when I wear them so I’d assume they’re universally liked.

The word from styleforum hoarders with good insight from their dealers was that everyone was trying to move 53s out of their inventory before they were being discontinued. But I really can't confirm what they're going to do.

We were in Mexico City just before Christmas, and we found a shop with a very large selection of JMM frames. Got to try the Aida andDuke 2. I think they both fit me reasonably well.
