This is how I do it, it works a dream…

      Get pair of pliers...

      Insert into button hole…

      Gently open jaws…

      Sorted…

        A hint to everybody

Button them up without wearing them, "rip" them open. Do that couple of times. Then put on, and button up. Saves fingers…

There are those with brains and those with power... which one are you? 😉

tried that awhile yesterday. that's what I'm planning to continue doing today. ain't gonna make my fingers suffer. they are meant for better things. 😃

yes button the top 2…..save time and save to fringe the other holes with time
my buttonholes on all my jeans go to fringe with time and then i must do this

the 25 oz 634 begin to fray too….preventative stitching around the two button holes-the third never button up:-)

therefore button the top 2 only is with BRAIN ::)
but giles tip with the tongs is simple and of course good 😉

^ means you only utilise the top 2 buttons? the bottom few you just leave them un-button all the time? thats something. new. i normally leave the bottom one untouched (button all the time) and just utilise the top 3. seems to work fine for me. but i notice mine fray quite a bit. maybe cos im fat and it stretches quite abit.  😶

I usually wear a 36 but missed them one these. Is 38 going to be way to big?

No, I don't think it would be. It depends on how 36 fits you to begin with. A 36 is perfect for me out of the gate. I don't really go for the whole size down and stretch it out trip. If a 36 fits you loose to begin with 38 in these might be a tad big but not too big. If a 36 is snug to begin with a 38 in these will probably just be pretty much perfect and not have any break in or stretching period.
I took these in a 36 and I absolutely love them, but I would not like them at all if they where even the slightest bit tighter.
                      Hope that helps.

I guess I should clarify. The 634 in 25 oz was a litt tight in 36 but they fit well after months of wear. The 634 raw are tighter yet but still fit well. I have 634s in 38 and they are a baggies fit but not terrible. I would love to get  these. I just want to make sure I'm not going to be swimming in them. Z, from your comment above I am guessing the 38 should be good.

Sounds to me like you would be perfect with a 38.

These do fit slightly slimmer than the 634s so yeah your going to be perfect with these in a 38.

I just got my pair in! The 38 is a little big in the waist.  I bet a 36 would have been perfect..oh well.  I'm not sending them back. They are way too awesome! The cut and material are excellent!  I know they are sanforised but any chance they will shirk if I hot soak/wash them?

As I have understood Haraki hot soaks every pair of sanforized denim. So don't expect more shrinking overall.
How much too big is the waist? Maybe you are fine with a belt?

                                    why so serious?

I hot soaked them for about an hour yesterday.  They shrunk just enough that the fit pretty much perfect.  Before the soak they were big.  If they weren't so stiff they would have been falling down.  I didn't loose much in respects to the legnth with the soak.  They came out great and I am so glad I bought them.  With the soak it makes me think that 36 might have been a little tight.  These are pricey but and instant favorite!! Worth every dollar.

I agree, I like the TTS look on IH jeans.  They look stout and functional when worn this way because they are.  I got these in 36 but would probably be fine in 38 also with a belt.  I've got IH's in both sized and it's working well.

                                        RIP, Geo
