IHSH-293-OD - 18oz Vintage Selvedge Denim CPO Shirt - Indigo Overdyed Black
-
Hey everyone, finally got the shirt!
This is in L, which is my usual size.
I'm very unsure about the fit because it's very tight under the arms.
The fit overall length is perfect.
It also fits very well on the waist.
The question is, will it stretch...?
How much stretch can be expected?
I'm afraid XL might be too long and too wide at the waist...
What do you think? -
@Sam-OG it doesn't stretch, but it does relax a good bit as @Richard said a long time ago. I was in the same boat this time last year but held out and it is now my favorite shirt. If you size up at all it may look a little sloppy in all other areas.
Iron heart tops in general run slimmer compared to other brands due to their rider first focus. It's just something to get used to.
-
@Sam-OG Looks great. It won't stretch under the arms, but it will give. It softens considerably, and where there is pressure, very much so. It drapes like very heavy linen. Lol. Only thing to consider is if you want to layer under it. I can do both.
-
I’m in agreement. I recently went to BlackBlue and tried on the XL (my normal size,) and a 2XL. 2XL made the arms insanely huge. I’m sure your size L will work just give it some time + wear.
-
First of, thank you all so much for your support!
Im completely agree with you.
It becomes softer over time and therefore more comfortable to wear.
I generally only wear a tee or a tank top under my shirt. So underlaying isn't important to me.
I'm already very taken with the shirt and would like to wear it 24/7.
I'll keep you updated... -
@Sam-OG That’s so great to hear! I’m loving mine as well.
For a warmer layer underneath, you could try a 1501 if you have one. They are similar to the 1600 heavy weight IH tees but with long sleeves. That’s my favourite piece to layer with mine.
I guess I got the goldilocks fit with mine and can layer with it. It’s just an incredible shirt!
-
I just picked up my new shirt and I’m impressed! The fit is very good with armpits feeling a bit snug. That will relax soon enough I expect. What surprised me is that this shirt already feels softer, less cardboard than my ihsh-295-ib after dozens of wear. And it’s deeper black than I expected which is not a bad thing at all.

Hi guys
Just finally managed to get my size from Iron Heart
IHSH-293-OD
But noticed that threads loose already technically no wear in the shirt . Your advice

@Brandrea Nice, how do you like the 1501 compared to the thermals for layering? I have one 1501 which I like but is a little long for my taste for wearing with jackets. Haven’t tried the thermals.
-
@natefreezy I find them to be pretty similar in body length. The thermal is a touch easier to fit under the sleeves though

-
@Kasi It’s my understanding the CPOs are already longer than the standard western shirts. I think going any longer on the CPO would look funny.
-
@natefreezy I personally find the Thermals a little easier to layer under a shirt, they just move better underneath a heavy shirt. And they breathe, which the 1501 barely does. Which doesn’t mean you can’t layer over 1501, it just gets hot and heavy

under a jacket I prefer the 1501 though because it feels more substantial, sweater like if that makes sense.
And +1 that thermals are also easier to fit under sleeves. Plus you can downsize them more easily to get a shorter sleeve length because the fabric stretches in the body. 1501 won’t do that…

@vorons2001 Hi Alexander, sorry to hear this. I will send you a reply to your email message shortly. We should be able to fix this for you and apologies for any inconveniences.
-
@weftyarn Yeah sounds good, thanks. I have layered my 1501 with the 293-OD and you’re right it’s a pretty substantial combo. Having a thermal for variety would be good too!
