Very nice packaging by the Mclaren team.

                    To kick start the event…

                    Going straight for the food…

The ham is so tasty.  :o

                    Entering the paddock club…

                    Door gift:

As close as you can get behind the real thing..

I think this is the engine that is being used in the vehicle.. Didn't have a chance to ask..

                    On the pit lane..

                    Pretty crew girls..

                    The legend..

Very lucky to have a chance to get in the Mclaren pit..

                    Ferrari line up…

                    That's it folks.. It's been a great experience!  🙂 🙂

Yesterday, my brother and I got out and enjoyed the sun with a 14.5 mile hike down in East Sussex on the English south coast. The route began in Glynde and we were soon walking through Firle Place, the seat of Sir John Gage, who helped Henry VIII with the dissolution of the monasteries:

We soon encountered these friendly little fellows who warmed up to us very quickly:

After making our way through the estate's village with its old church, we got out into open country as we approached the South Downs Way:

(Firle Tower visible through the trees)

Up on the South Downs Way, we had views over to the English Channel on our right and views over Sussex to our left:

No surprise with the gorgeous weather and coastal winds to see plenty of paragliders enjoying the conditions:

The halfway point of the hike took us off the Downs and into the historic village of Alfriston, a centre for smuggling in the early 1800s. We necked a swift half pint at the George Inn, which was built in 1397 (the gent's have probably been cleaned at least twice since then…):

Leaving Alfriston, we walked the banks of the Cuckmere River. After a couple more miles through woodland and over hills, we rejoined it at its estuary (and the starting point for all the smuggling):

The river eventually comes out to sea at Cuckmere Haven with the white cliffs of the Seven Sisters towering above:

We were starting to run out of daylight by this point and still had a good few miles along the cliff top path to cover before arriving at our destination of Seaford:

As with any number of seaside towns in England, it was a fairly depressing place that has certainly seen better days and was in stark contrast to much of the beautiful scenery we'd seen throughout the day. However, men who walk cross country for 14 miles come with one thing in mind…

                                      Trawler's Fish and Chip restaurant!

A throwback to another era, yes, but a fitting (and filling) way to end a great walk. No fast cars, tattoos or hot women in this post I'm afraid but hopefully an insight into a picturesque part of England and my preferred way of bashing my Iron Hearts!
