You guys are all doing great stuff. I’m at work and we’re dead.  But tonight I’m going to get a little under the influence and watch the new season of Love Is Blind on Netflix.  I recommend trying it, don’t try it sober though.  It’s not as good.

@sabergirl is Marcia a Mar-sha or a Mar-see-a?  Either way tell her congratulations.

Thank you and it’s my yard overlooking Lake Ontario.  It’s truly a magical place with some unbelievable views.  I used to think that artists used to make up the colours in paintings about water, sunsets, and sunrises…until I witnessed them first hand.

IMO it's fascinating. Every work speaks directly. Striking and provocative. And I mostly agree with the political or social messages.

My problem with it is, that on one side it caricatures and criticizes capitalism and commerce, and on the other side it has become a huge part of it itself. Some of the works are sold for prices that are obscene. And the idea of shredding a piece right at the auction only increases the attention, and the monetary value. At the exhibition there was a shop at the end, where you can buy the prints (ok) but also Banksy socks, and Banksy wine (wtf) and all kind of cheap shit.

After all his (or their) work is often simple, not to say primitive and strident, which is good for street art, but I wouldn't put it on the same level of profoundness as other art. Maybe it should stay where it comes from, on streets, and not go on auctions or into museums. IDK

But my children really liked it …

I walked past this and thought nothing of it. Had never heard of Banksy at the time. Should have bought the entire table.
