      Hey everyone,

First of all, thank you for starting this thread. I have learned a good amount after reading through it…

I'm hoping that someone can help me out here - I am in the market for a bracelet but I know very little about the brands that are out there. I have come to appreciate Good Art HLWD but their prices are a bit too steep for me (maybe someday I can afford them).

Does anyone know of any other brands that sell similar items to Good Art?

I'd love to hear some suggestions. Thanks

I mentioned some craftspeople/brand names in your other thread. I think the thing to note is that there is no alternative to GAH because no-one really does what they do.

To a degree, all silver craftspeople at this level have quite an individual mode of expression, but even by that standard I would say GAH is unique. If you want something more generic then a jewellers at your local mall would serve.

I collected Bill Wall, Konstantino, KingBaby, Steel Flame & Starlingear before GoodArt & they are great (esp the SG), but the GA pieces are just better. Pull any new piece from the baggie, you just want to take photos of it and admire it. I never felt that way about my other jewelry.

X2 on King Baby, Starlingear, and Bill Wall.  I still love and wear my silver from Bill Wall, but the Good Art is my go to on a daily basis.  Don’t forget IH has some pretty nice pieces as well.  I have the motorcycle chain bracelet and wallet chain and wear them quite frequently.  It all depends on my mood and what’s close at hand.

Yeah man I should have kept my IH bracelet, it was really well made IMO. I sold it to buy my first GA piece and still miss it sometimes.

Right. I’ve bought a lot of my GA pieces on sale through SE. That being said I think those days are over. Instead, GA has been including a bonus piece if you buy a large enough purchase. Last time it was a Biscuit bracelet. Who knows though, I think they are just trying to navigate a market that is constantly changing and growing.

Like Anesthetist said last time SE did a full store sale they mentioned something about no longer being allowed to put good art on sale.

I think the key takeaway from this thread is that, at these rarified levels whether it's Derrick (Steel Flame), Ryk (Starlingear), or Josh (GA), you are buying into the maker's personality, skill, and personal experience. Therefore each brand exudes a particular style that is unique - an aesthetic fingerprint if you will. As @neph93 noted, nobody really does what they do and they are valued as such. I completely respect that the pricing can appear stratospheric at first but many of these items are aspirational purchases that you will wear quite frequently - becoming a part of you.

Sure, you can find replicas and knock-offs out there but then what's the point. Nobody truly needs any of this stuff so ideally save up if you can for what you want.

My grandfather hadn’t attended university but still wanted a ring so he saved up and bought diamonds one at a time, then had them set into a silver ring that I’ve inherited. The saving up idea is cool because one day it might get passed down and mean something.
